A man who appeared in a Navy SEAL uniform at a Thousand Oaks school event this week apparently never served in the Navy, military officials said Wednesday.
Salhem Dreasden was among those in uniform Tuesday at a tribute to soldiers at Ladera School. The school was honored at the event for outstanding patriotism and support of the armed forces.
Dreasden was wearing a Navy uniform that bore his last name, the words "SEAL TEAM," the trident pin insignia of the elite unit and twin bars indicating the rank of Navy lieutenant.
The name Salhem Dreasden, however, does not appear anywhere in databases of Navy service members that go back to at least the Vietnam War, said Katie Suich, a spokeswoman for the Navy Personnel Command in Tennessee. There aren't any S. Dreasdens in the database, either, she said.

He went to the OBAMAO School of Military Saluting.
FUBO and F military poser scum.

I hate to say this but perhaps only folks with an ID card should be able to wear the uniform. Maybe ensure that they show the ID card before any event where the public will be there. The school did a very poor job keeping those kids safe. That guy could have been some psychotic idiot and bombed the place or something. I am retired and not even sure if retirees should wear the uniform after they are done (perhaps to be buried in of course)....I need to hear other people’s opinion of that last sentence.
That sorry ass salute would have been a dead giveaway for me. The member on each side of him are rendering proper salutes. Not to mention that I have never, EVER, seen a FAT ASS SEAL.
And by the way, the soldier to his right is NOT an SSG, he’s a SGT. In fact, his rank patch is blurry enough he could even be a CPL.
Impersonating a military member, especially an officer, is a criminal offense and this scumbag needs to be prosecuted.
He wasn’t a Seal, he was a Whale.
He doesn’t even know how to salute? How many people were sold on this fraud?
One wonders if this “patriotic school” couldn’t find a Navy representative, so “found one”....
We need a Mk 48 ADCAP and Sono-buoy ping!
Under that line of thought, we all can go out and buy police uniforms matching our local LEOs and wear them... hey maybe get some blue lights mounted up on our cars...
Along that same line - I guess I could put on a suit, read someone else's writings, systematically try to destroy the economy of this nation, demonstrate a hatred for Israel and Jewish people in general, bow down to foreign muslim leaders, and generally act like a total Jacka$$.... but someone might accuse me of trying to steal Obama's glory....
ID card’s not a bad idea, but I don’t even know if retirees should be wearing uniforms. A good friend of mine is a retired USA colonel and last year he gave a speech/dedication thing at the local vet’s cemetery - I asked him if he was going to wear his uniform and he said, “Nope - I got rid of all of them.”
True. I actually did get rid of all my uniforms too except for my Service Dress Blue which will be worn at the funeral viewing (if I even have that).
My favorite so far is the gay, GOATEED ~30 yo white guy from the east coast whose class A saying he was everything from a Ranger to a SEAL to a CIA officer to a Legionnaire. AND he attended every jump school in the world, from the looks of it.
He even attended a formal military dinner with all that crap slapped on there —puzzling in the extreme.
He’d been going around like that for several years, and even posted “war stories” online.
We also had one like that here at FR about 7 years ago; “Deep in the Hurtgeren Forest”. He said he went to sniper school and about every other hi-speed school under the sun —posted his entire military “record” as “inspiration for others”.
I just realized something else about that caption. The USAF has no FIRST SERGEANT enlisted rank. First Sergeant, both in the USA and USMC is an E8 rank, E8 in the USAF is Senior Master Sergeant.
Do these “journalists” do no research or ask any questions??????
The uncommon name turns up in Salt Lake City, though.
Saluting uncovered is not permitted in the Army either.
It looks like that USAF 1st Sgt is eyeballing him....
It’s Benny Hill!
Thats a British salute
Americans slant the hand the other way
Clue #4 - No cover.
Yes. To begin with, the thumb and fingers must be joined. This guy couldn't get out of boot camp, much less SEAL training.
