ID card’s not a bad idea, but I don’t even know if retirees should be wearing uniforms. A good friend of mine is a retired USA colonel and last year he gave a speech/dedication thing at the local vet’s cemetery - I asked him if he was going to wear his uniform and he said, “Nope - I got rid of all of them.”

True. I actually did get rid of all my uniforms too except for my Service Dress Blue which will be worn at the funeral viewing (if I even have that).

This fatass poseur needs to be sentenced to 10 years in prison, but pardoned IF HE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES BUDS School and his enlistment with an honorable discharge.

Interesting idea..that only active duty should wear uniforms..it has merit, but will never happen. Of course, I'd estimate that 95% of vets couldn't fit into their old uniforms after 10 years separation.

I was USMC from 68-72. When I got out, all mine went into several garment bags, with mucho mothballs, in the attic, where they stayed for years. In the late 80's my then two teenage daughters asked me if I could drive them to an Army-Navy store, because the kids in school were starting to wear military stuff...I guess it was a fashion statement. Living in the NYC suburbs, I think I was the only parent who had served in the military. So I told them..we don't have to go, there's several bags of my uniforms up in the attic. Girls had a ball...
