Is Mitt Romney trying to woo the teenage girl vote ahead of next year's presidential election?
In a potentially campaign-changing development, the 2012 presidential hopeful admitted to NBC's Jamie Gangel that he happens to be a fan of the "Twilight" series. The revelation came up during a discussion of books the former Massachusetts governor has read, including George W. Bush's recent memoir. But that's not all, Romney added.
"I like silly stuff, too," Romney volunteered. "I like the 'Twilight' series. That was fun."

You haven’t read the (what the author said she added to her) books, (not will you acknowledge the fact that they are based on Mormon doctrines) so you shouldn’t be the one to comment on it.
Like I said.......pointless.
Maybe you should go back to the thousands of Mormons threads. You seem to well read on the Mormon faith, but you know zero about this book.
Well, yes, TNNana, that’s exactly what God intended us to do. EXACTLY what he intends us to do, as well as live the example.
Tough twinkies. I’m not concerned that you find it problematic.
Did you really mean to write that liberal quote ???
___________________________________________________________
I did indeed.
I have friends whose parents made them smoke cigarettes until they got sick. Guess what, they never smoked again. In college my fraternity brothers got upset because I always seemed to stay sober at parties so they got me to drink a few pints of Seagram’s 7 blended whiskey. You can bet I never did that again.
If we don’t teach children the difference between myth, fairy tales and reality then when they are exposed to it in college or elsewhere when we are not there to guide them they can get lost.
Reading a book that your children read gives you something to talk about that you have in common with them and that they can appreciate sharing with you. At the same time you can open their eyes to silliness.
He leaves to keep her safe
No wait
He only came back because he thought that was the only way he could keep her safe.

Perhaps you should read the books before posting. My father always said when you don’t know what your talking about it is best to stop talking.
Elsie, go read your Bible and study it so you can understand it. Do you even have a clue what grace is and what Jesus did in his agony at Gethsemane? Do you understand that God called upon him to take the cup with all your sins in it, past, present and future and drank it? Then on the cross he killed off the human body full of your human perversions and fulfilled the law so that he could offer you grace, which is the triumph over human death so that you can be with him into eternity? Have you EVER read the New Covenant? Do you understand that God is not going to apply judgment upon you because of what Jesus did if you do two things...keep his commandments and believe in his ability to give you grace? That is what the New Covenant is about you know. Do you understand it? Do you understand why ONLY Jesus had the right and the power to grant the murderer on the cross next to him forgiveness and a pathway into eternity with him? Remember God the Father said if a man deliberately sheds the blood of another you are to take him out and shed his blood? What changed, Elsie? The New Covenant did...that he brought and spoke to humanity through the body of Jesus Christ of Nazreth.
John 3:16
King James Version (KJV)
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Elsie that scripture is the core teaching in every Southern Baptist Church that I’ve ever attended.
Note: Every he, him, his in this post is put there with reverance of HIM.
You seem absolutely fascinated with the Mormons. Maybe you need to concentrate more on your personal relationship with the I AM. I can’t help but wonder how you missed all the New Testament teachings.
“Do you understand that God is not going to apply judgment upon you because of what Jesus did if you do two things...keep his commandments and believe in his ability to give you grace?” I think you have that reversed ... in fact I know you do, and that is precisely how the Mormonism apologists at FR have posed salvation, as something earned by keeping His commandments so then you can receive His grace. What is the commandment of God that men must do to be saved? ... The leaders in Jesus’ presence asked Him that , and He responded in what way? Do you know? The order you offer your instructions is a clue as to what your understanding of The Grace of God in Christ really is. You see, we Christians believe you believe, THEN God cleanses and send sHis Holy Spirit to be in you the Hope of Glory. And your old nature continues to war with your new nature so long as you live in the flesh you occupy. If you could keep His Commandments without His Spirit being the righteousness within, then Jesus would not have died on the Cross for your sina nd mine. He took you sin nature to that Cross. And try to get a clearer picture of what happened in the Garden. You’re tiptoeing mighty close to the heresies of Mormonism.
My father would not have allowed those trashy books in his house
Following his lead when my children were small I had no books or reading material in my house that the children could not read
Asa child of God I couldnt read those books either
Today I have no books in my house that my grandchil;dren cannot read
Discernment when it comes to reading materiasl could be considered “knowing what God would disapprove of”
after all do you have a copy of the Karma Sutra or the Koran handy where you children can read them ???
Go read your Bible, MHGinTN...and don’t just read it. Study it and let God teach you what it says. You will be a much better person for it, I guarantee! YOU took the words right out my mouth and you don’t even freaking know it! Obviously it’s just words to you that you don’t even understand.
Sadly, I didn’t really expect you to get it. I was hoping you could, but it is really up to you to open that heart to the real meaning of the Grace of God in Christ. We’ve had a few Mormons try the very same tactics you’re trying to fumble through now. Enjoy the rest of your day.
Sorry, you don’t get it...and you don’t even have the ability to read and understand the scripture that I posted. Sadly I will pray that your arrogance will abate and that you will let God teach you his word.
again with the disrespect, arrogence and rudeness to God
Not at all, TnNana, I always speak of HIM in reverance because I understand who HE is, and I bother to read the scriptures and learn from HIM.
It’s human arrogance I can’t abide like yours and your buddy MH(whoever)TN. You two have snipped and snarked for two days, and you don’t even understand simple scriptures while lecturing me and alluding that I’m a Mormon, not that that bothers me, I have worked with Mormons that are probably more dedicated and closer to righteousness than you two will ever be. Even if their dogma does not suit me...they live more like Christians than you two do.
I can assume you feel the same towards others concerns as well?
HA ha HA!
Quit 'thinking' and actually READ their 'scriptures'!!
You'll soon find out what they have SAID about your 'beliefs'!!!
Of COURSE you don't!
You are confused by the MORMON spin machine that tries it's DAMNEDEST to deflect the HATE of it's ANTI-Christian heresies towards it's MEMBERS.
READ our words in these threads!!
The 'hate' is directed at MORMONism's HERESY; NOT it's MEMBERS.
So, your religion does NOT care for a FALSE religion member's soul?
You feel NO obligation to set them straight?
Oprah has done a REALLY good job, Satan: you should be PROUD!
(Wait...)
"All of this should be conveyed without having priesthood leaders focus upon intimate matters which are a part of husband and wife relationships. Skillful interviewing and counseling can occur without discussion of clinical details by placing firm responsibility on individual members of the Church to put their lives in order before exercising the privilege of entering a house of the Lord. The First Presidency has interpreted oral sex as constituting an unnatural, impure, or unholy practice. If a person is engaged in a practice which troubles him enough to ask about it, he should discontinue it."
- Official Declaration of the First Presidency of the Church, January 5th, 1982
"Among the most common sexual sins our young people commit are necking and petting. Not only do these improper relations often lead to fornication, [unwed] pregnancy, and abortions - all ugly sins - but in and of themselves they are pernicious evils, and it is often difficult for youth to distinguish where one ends and another begins. They awaken lust and stir evil thoughts and sex desires. They are but parts of the whole family of related sins and indiscretions. Almost like twins, 'petting' and fornication are alike."
- Prophet Spencer W. Kimball, The Miracle of Forgiveness, page 65
"Also far-reaching is the effect of the loss of chastity. Once given or taken or stolen it can never be regained. Even in a forced contact such as rape or incest, the injured one is greatly outraged. If she has not cooperated and contributed to the foul deed, she is of course in a more favorable position. There is no condemnation where there is no voluntary participation. It is better to die in defending one's virtue than to live having lost it without a struggle."
- Prophet Spencer W. Kimball, The Miracle of Forgiveness, page 196
"And Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment is greater than I can bear. Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth." (Genesis 4:9-14.) That was true of murder. It is also true of illicit sex, which, of course, includes all petting, fornication, adultery, homosexual acts, and all other perversions. The Lord may say to offenders, as He did to Cain, "What hast thou done?" The children thus conceived make damning charges against you; the companions who have been frustrated and violated condemn you; the body that has been defiled cries out against you; the spirit which has been dwarfed convicts you. You will have difficulty throughout the ages in totally forgiving yourself."
-Prophet Spencer W. Kimball, "Love Versus Lust", BYU Speech January 5, 1965. Often-used quote still used today in LDS seminary classes.
"I do not find in the Bible the modern terms "petting" nor "homosexuality," yet I found numerous scriptures which forbade such acts under by whatever names they might be called. I could not find the term "homosexuality," but I did find numerous places where the Lord condemned such a practice with such vigor that even the death penalty was assessed."
- Apostle Spencer W. Kimball, "Love Versus Lust", BYU Speech January 5, 1965
"If adultery or fornication justified the death penalty in the old days, and still in Christ's day, is the sin any less today because the laws of the land do not assess the death penalty for it? Is the act less grievous? There must be a washing, a purging, a changing of attitudes, a correcting of appraisals, a strengthening toward self-mastery. There must be many prayers, and volumes of tears. There must be an inner conviction giving to the sin its full diabolical weight. There must be increased devotion and much thought and study. And this takes energy and time and often is accompanied with sore embarrassment, heavy deprivations and deep trials, even if indeed one is not excommunicated from the Church, losing all spiritual blessings."
-Prophet Spencer W. Kimball, The Miracle of Forgiveness, Page 155
"How like the mistletoe is immorality. The killer plant starts with a sticky sweet berry. Little indiscretions are the berries -- indiscretions like sex thoughts sex discussions, passionate kissing, pornography. The leaves and little twigs are masturbation and necking and such, growing with every exercise. The full-grown plant is petting and sex looseness. It confounds, frustrates, and destroys like the parasite if it is not cut out and destroyed, for, in time it robs the tree, bleeds its life, and leaves it barren and dry; and, strangely enough, the parasite dies with its host."
- Apostle Spencer W. Kimball, General Conference Address, April 1, 1967.
Nonono!
The MORMONs judge your Christianity; NOT sweet Nana!
