Sarah Palin’s political mystery tour
Politico ^ | 05/29/2011 | Andy Barr

Posted on 05/29/2011 5:47:21 AM PDT by Hawk720

The New Hampshire Republican Party found out Sarah Palin would be coming to town by hearing about it in the news.

Where would she be stopping? They didn’t know. Palin’s staff wouldn’t even return their calls, leaving them to ask reporters for more answers.

And they’re not alone: With hours to go before Palin’s bus tour is supposed to begin, it’s still unclear what she’ll be doing when she gets to the first stop. It’s even more of a mystery what her second stop will be.

Or when.

Or why.

Once again, the former vice presidential nominee has proven she can tilt the political world on its axis in an instant. This past week, it was Tim Pawlenty, Mitt Romney and Michele Bachmann who took their campaigns to Iowa, but it was the news of Palin’s bus tour that really had people talking. A simple announcement on her website, and she got all the attention, all the interest.

Hi Taildragger

Good points. FYI it’s “role” model. Like playing a role on a stage.

Have we ever seen a candidate at the front of the pack in polls who has been saying for months that she’s seriously considering a run—or any other politician, for that matter—do as you describe?

On what do you base this conclusion of motivation that has never been seen before and is directly counter to what Palin has been telling us herself?

I think the only way for the ME to truly change, will require the women to put their collective foot down. I’m not sure, if after some 1,400 years of being beaten into submission, they’ll be able to pull it off.

But given the right roll models and the instant communications of the 21st century, it’s probably the best time to try.

She’s living inside their heads, 24-7, rent free.

They don’t want her to call, and when the phone doesn’t ring they know it’s her.

Somebody ought to write a song.

It’s like boiling a frog. She keeps showing up for events, making pronouncements, raising money. One day she’ll show up for a debate and next thing you know, she’s standing on the Capitol steps in a fur-lined coat with her left hand in the air :-)

True - but I do find it more than a little strange that the ‘tour’ starts today, and aside from the slick video, there is absolutely no information about the tour on the wesbite. There are no speaking appearances announced. It’s just strange.

Maybe she's just taking a vacation, hahaha...

They will be forced to follow her if they want to know what she's up to...

No negative media reports before the events take place...No organized hecklers...

Appears Sarah will provide her own media...

she reduces the media to reporting daily where she went.

Ask a biologist if he can predict the path of a barracuda

Sarahcuda is showing leadership by leading from the front, setting the example to follow, and not wasting time checking in with others to determine which way the wind is blowing.

I expect she can demonstrate how to run an effective, efficient campaign and not get all bogged down in the entanglements of a national political party.

She has already accomplished herself with insightful commentary, which is widely discussed, merely by posting to FB. How much did that cost, and look at the results.

As someone that has had backwoods experience, she has learned how to move fast, while staying mean and lean.

She has a target, they sense she is about, but she is not going to reveal her tactics and methodology.

I expect that a year from now, many more of us will be talking about a path to a new stripped down version of Federal Government, and our Sarahcuda will have demonstrated through her campaign methods that she knows how to Git 'er Done!

Thanks. I’m gonna go with the auto-correct misinterpreting my intent. That, and my failure to proof read before posting.

with her left hand in the air :-)

Hopefully that left hand will be resting on a family Bible, while her right hand is raised taking the Oath of Office!

Sarah Louise Palin

Born February 11, 1964 in Sandpoint, ID (Meets the Jus Soli Requirement)

Parents were
Charles R Heath, born in ID
Sarah Sheeran, born in WI

Both parents were US Citizens at the time of her birth (Meets the Jus Sanguinis Requirement)

Sarah Palin is a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN unlike Barry Soetoro aka Barack Hussein Obama.

she’s retail politicking. You simply show up at places and shake hand and talk to ppl on the streets

This is exactly what she is doing. If she were to announce ahead of time where she is going, there would be a massive turnout of protesters, supporters, or both. In any case, it would prevent her from simply getting off her bus and speaking with average Americans in a calm atmosphere. She doesn't need to convert her conservative supporters and she'll never convert the maniacal, hate-filled liberals, so she needs to reach out those Americans in the middle who might otherwise really relate to her but have this media-imbued caricture impression of Palin.

It's a brilliant strategy. How else to accomplish this, other than traveling around and showing up unannounced at public places where reachable, decent Americans are at?

“I don’t believe she’s running anything but interference for the candidate she will ultimately endorse....who won’t be a RINO”

Maybe maybe not, that is what is holding everyone’s interest.
I certainly would not money against her running.

Then again maybe I did mean RATS. The RINO’s sure seem to work right along with them. Is there really any difference when the end result is the same?
