Tonight, I cast an affirmative vote in the House to continue three measures which uphold our national security and are in place to protect American citizens against those seeking to do us harm. I urge you to click on the link and read about the Constitutionality of these provisions compiled by my friend and colleague, Rep. Steve King (IA-05), a member of the Judiciary Committee.
Congressman Steve King: Patriot Act fits tea party standards
MB's over on her Facebook page right spinning wildly while taking a beating from her supporters in the comments.
Check this out...
She just lost my vote.
She just “Gingriched” herself.
I’m not thrilled with it but it isn’t exactly unexpected. I’ll still vote for her.
Dee. You Enn
DONE - Don’t bother me again with this “wanna be the president” hoo ha, Michelle. I wash my hands of you - you and I are finished
I'm not so sure the gov feels bound even by the far-reaching provisions of the Patriot Act. They have been compiling a searchable data-base of all electronic communications between Americans for some time now and spending loads of money to do it.
Oops...
Bad move Bachmann
I don’t know, has Palin given her opinion of the Patriot Act?
Do we know if she supports it?
Video: Bachmann Addresses Security Provisions
Complete phony.
Conservatives still support her. Libertarians do not.
Too bad, she should have voted for liberty.
The Patriot Act is one of the grand distractions of the 21st century.
Google “Echelon” folks. The Patriot Act is nothing and is not affecting our civil liberties.
Precisely.
I fully support Bachmann, have no trouble with her voting in support of this, and don't believe most libertarians are going to vote for whoever the eventual Republican nominee is anyway (it most certainly won't be Paul).
“They have been compiling a searchable data-base of all electronic communications between Americans for some time now and spending loads of money to do it.”
Yes.
And the PA will be signed by a telepen machine. Signature not required...........
Yep me too. I do not like it. DHS, TSA, and The Patriot Act should be terminated and the FBI Beefed up and turned loose on the Muzzies.
I dislike the PA. My personal information is out there now because everyone seems to ask for it wherever I go. I think it should be a two way street. I'd like to see the ID of the person asking me for my ID. How do I know what they're going to do with mine?
Real conservatives support liberty and justice. The Patriot Act is about neither. It was passed in the heat of fear and should face a sunset in front of every Congress and every year.
That would give them each a year and no excuses to actually read it. They (the political elite) want to make the public perpetually scared and the PA permanent.
