U.S. Rep. Thaddeus McCotter of Michigan says he's giving serious consideration to making a run for the Republican nomination for president.
The fifth-term congressman from Livonia said Wednesday during an interview on WJR-AM in Detroit the job is attractive because it would allow him to shape the debate in Washington.
But he says the ultimate decision will be made in consultation with his wife, Rita, a registered nurse, and their three kids.
Politico reported a day earlier that McCotter would make his decision within the next two weeks.
McCotter also has been linked with a possible run for the U.S. Senate next year,

Sure. SOMEBODY needs that .00000001 percent of the vote. Might as well be Thaddeus.
He would do.
I think this guy would be great.
Solid conservative, greats sense of wit and humor.
He gets a 0% rating from NARAL, and 100% from the National Right to Life Committee. He seems to pass my litmus test. I’ll look into him further, should he decide to run.
This guy is a solid Reagan Conservative. I would vote for him in a minute and he has the “Red Eye” audience as his base. How could he lose?
I wish he’d run against Levin for the Senate
I told my sister the other day that if Herman Cain got the nomination, I wouldn’t mind seeing Mr. McCotter as his running mate.
I hope he runs.
Levin is not up but Debbie is. I wish he would run against her.
YES! Perfect ticket.
Once they got over the “who are they?” confusion, the left would sh*t their pants.
Actually, I have hear McCotter many times on John Batchelor, I like him
I had high hopes for McCotter until he came out strongly for the auto bailout. I realize he’s from Michigan...but still..
He does have great wit and is a smart young man all the same.
He's sharp as a tack; love it when he's on Red Eye.
He would do in 2016. Let him serve in Congress a little longer. We need him there.
HE WOULD GET MY VOTE! I really like Allen West too.
Who?????
Maybe he should run against Stabencow.
Or for Stabenow's seat in 2012.
I wish Rob Steele would run against Stabacow. He nearly beat Dingleberry, and that has NEVER been done before in that leftist union district (Ann Arbor and Downriver). Steele’s a solid conservative,a TRUE TEA party conservative, a cadiologist and strongly opposed to 0bamacare.
