Clinton, N.Y. -- Al Gore, 45th vice president of the U.S., Nobel Laureate and author of An Inconvenient Truth, told Hamiltons Class of 2011 that the climate crisis is the most serious challenge that our civilization has ever faced, and that while the grassroots movement in support of solving the climate crisis is the most powerful in the history of the world, it will be the generation of you in this graduating class that will really bring about change. Gore also addressed the political state of our democracy and how decisions made on false assumptions have led to major national challenges.
When our nation was debating the wisdom of invading Iraq, public opinion polls showed, at the time the Senate took its vote, more than three-quarters of the American people genuinely believed that the person primarily responsible for the attacks of September 11th, 2001, was Sadam Hussein, the then ruler of Iraq. Whether you agreed with that invasion or not, I believe that all should agree that it is dangerous for a great nation to base important decisions on facts that are manifestly false because decisions by great nations can have long lasting consequences. Because of that decision, based on a false understanding of reality, we are still in Iraq today.

In his address Gore said, We have a debate in our nation as to whether the climate crisis is real. Every national academy of science of every major nation on the planet says it is. Every professional scientific association in every field related to the study of climate says it is. Ninety-eight percent of all climate scientists say it is. Mother Nature has weighed in.

Is this buffoon still appearing in public? I would think that college students would laugh him off the stage; or are the minds of college students SO melted that they still accept the crap he pedals....
Yes, it's true. Our local weather has been running feature stories on how global warming is killing people.
One thing I do agree with them on is that we are doomed.
Sigh. The answer is unequivocally yes. There is an argument put forth that the frequency of such events is increasing, but the evidence is scant, localized, and much more dependent on non-global-warming patterns (e.g. La Nina causing the floods and tornadoes).
In some ways it is good to have complete idiots like Gore and Gingrich leading that parade, because those sophomoric college students will realize the truth a bit sooner than if someone smarter were trying to feed them that line of bull.
This is patent ahistorical bullshit. There was never a time when even a small minority of the American people thought that Saddam Hussein was primarily responsible for the 9/11 attacks. It was clear in the very early days that it was al Qaeda, based in Afghanistan, led by Osama bin Laden.
The Lefty revisionism is that Boooooooosh hoodwinked us into going into Iraq by lying about Hussein, and that we invaded because Booooooosh said that Hussein was responsible for 9/11. Bush never said it, and nobody ever thought that. It is staggering to me that, ten short years later, Algore thinks we are so ignorant of the events of those days that he is free to lie about it now.
We invaded Iraq because they were in breach of the cease fire that ended the first Gulf War and on the authority of 17 UN Security Council resolutions authorizing the use of force resulting from that breach. This was clear to everybody at the time. Algore is shamelessly lying about this now.
The only serious challenge the sex poodle is facing, is the loss of billions of $$$ he was going to receive for his green energy economy.
Why should we believe anybody who so obviously and flagrantly lies about the Iraq War about anything else?
LLS
The train left the station after climategate, but he’s still standing there thinking he arrived on time.
Really?
Oops. I repeat myself. For once, Algore is correct. The watermelon, er, green movement is another chapter in the most serious challenger that our civilization has ever faced.
Stunning!
A close proximity to The City of Evil ping.
The fact that he was not laughed off the stage is a deadly indictment of our failed educational system.
How is Al Gore any different than Harold Camping?
“Would you bet your paycheck on a weather forecast for tomorrow? If not, then why should this country bet billions on global warming predictions that have even less foundation?” Thomas Sowell
Wonder what Alexander Hamilton thinks of this moron speaking there?
“Those who stand for nothing fall for anything.” Alexander Hamilton
Can you imagine spending 45k per annum x 4 for you and your kid to have to sit and listen to this b.s. after 4 years?
