At least 116 people died in a massive tornado that left a path of destruction nearly a mile wide through the heart of Joplin, Missouri, on Sunday. The cyclone destroyed hundreds of homes and vehicles, as well as a high school and a hospital. Rescue teams have been working hard to find and assist as many people as possible, even as another storm system passes through region today.

I'm sure they would appreciate anybody's prayers. Another page, here lists some ways to help. I've heard good things about the efforts of the Salvation Army in these kinds of situations (another site says be sure to designate gifts to the SA for JOPLIN RELIEF), and also heard some good things about Convoy of Hope.
Third photo shows what’s left of a BRICK home.
Warning: a couple of the photos are kind of graphic.
Prayers lifted.
BTTT.
I can vouch for Convoy of Hope. They were already busy doing flood relief.
Stunning photos.
#11 is Mammatus which tells of a severe downdraft. If you ever see this seek shelter immediately!
Absolutely heartbreaking, sending donation to Salvation Army.
Real devistation. Poor people.
Holy Crap!
Amazing photos. Love the shot of the couple who found their dog. It’s hard to imagine the devastation you see in those images tho. Some of those people have lost everything.
From many of the pix and videos, the parking lots look more like junk yards with all those crushed vehicles.
The devastation is unimaginable.
Photo number 8, with the cross remaining whole and strong, is amazing.
Oh my God.
And I don’t say that lightly.
Those pictures are horrible. That actually looks worse than what I’ve heard about Xenia, Ohio.
Those people certainly need our prayers.
We had Mammatus this afternoon.
It was dead calm and freaky.
Noting happened, but you are right, they spell trouble.
My heart goes out to the people of joplin
I discussed their plight with local people today
We agreed that ours would have been much worse if we had not had hours of warning
The short minutes that the Joplin people had added to their nightmare and death toll
Havinbg gone through much the same 3 weeks ago we have some idea of their pain and suffering
I pray in Jesus name that they recover from this horror soon...
May the Holy Spirit of God comfort them
Amen
bookmark for when I see the photos.
Bibi mentioned Joplin tonight at the start of his AIPAC speech
God bless that wonderful man
