Made possible by the greed of the LA County Union employees...

Well that and they would rtather pay for illegal aliens tuition and welfare than to celebrate America. Piss be upon them.

Can't afford sky-rockets, but can afford to pay some life guards over $100,000 a year?

As far as I’m concerned they can just cancel California. Period.

4th of July celebrants can head South to HB and check out the fireworks show they do from the end of the pier. Parking sucks, but the rest of the experience is nice.

after budget issues forced the cancellation of its popular fireworks display.
I really don’t see a problem here. All they have to do is ask all LA gang members to be outside at dark and fire off their semi-automatics into the sky all at once. It would really be a show stopper!;)

Good, the government needs to get the hell out of the celebrating business....
Leave celebrating to the private sector.

Good. It is about time that EVERYONE sacrifice for this budget disaster. Everyone has their pet projects and nobody wants to give up anything.

With all due respect....no city should be spending tax payers monies on fire works.
Period.

Can’t say I disagree with a local government, in hard times, NOT spending millions on a fireworks show. But ...
but I’ll bet there are many expenditures going UNcut that I would have cut even sooner than the fireworks displays.
And, as ever in this neck of the woods, one wonders how much of the available money is made UNavailable due to illegal aliens: extra burdens on public roads, schools, public services, welfare!!, etc.

Tucson couldn’t afford ours a couple of years ago, Jim Click rallied some other businesses to pay for it. Jim is a loud mouth and often annoying, but he never misses a chance for good PR, and he has business interests in the greater LA area. Somebody should give him a call.
