1 JUNEAU, Alaska – A former member of Sarah Palin's inner circle has written a scathing tell-all, saying Palin was ready to quit as governor months before she actually resigned and was eager to leave office when more lucrative opportunities came around.

2 "In 2009 I had the sense if she made it to the White House and I had stayed silent, I could never forgive myself," Frank Bailey told The Associated Press.

3 Palin's attorney did not respond to multiple requests for comment for this story. \

4 "Blind Allegiance to Sarah Palin: A Memoir of Our Tumultuous Years" is due out Tuesday and based on tens of thousands of emails that Bailey said he kept during his time with Palin. It began with working on her 2006 gubernatorial campaign and continued through her failed run for vice president;.......

I am tired of these so called Conservatives that trash Sara Palin for leaving the governor's office with due cause, and yet if you ask them about Ronald Reagan they become mute.

Ronald Reagan was elected Governor of Ca in 1966, took office in 1967, and then ran for the Presidency in 1968 against Richard Nixon. If he had won the Primary in 1968 against Nixon and then beat the Democrat, his term as Governor would have been 2 years. Sarah's was 2 years and 7 months. Reagan was my favorite President, and all these Palin critics are Reagan fans, how two faced they look.

Don’t need it...people refer to it all of the time. In fact what most people who aren’t members of the FR echo chamber know of her is that she was Governor of Alaska and quit and she ran for VP. Taht’s out in the real world. I’m very active in the KoC, The GOP (not so much anymore), Tea Party Patriots, a Republican Professionals Group, and my local parish. I know alot of conservative folks who aren’t shy about politics, and while a good number like Palin a very large number simply will NOT vote for her.

“She’s completely vulnerable to the arguement that she’s an opportunist who saw big opportunities for personal enrichment .”

Um...you mean like every other politician in this country who runs for office?

The book describes cameras rolling as Palin strode through the door at an Anchorage hotel "over and over and over," for an RGA ad."

Gee. Multiple takes for an advertisement. Who ever heard of such a thing?! Scandalous!

So your sample includes the Knights of Columbus and your local parish.

You're a pothole.

That’s about the dumbest and most illogical thing I’ve seen posted in all my years on FR! Ronald Reagan DID NOT resign! Period! And if he had resigned it would have been to run for higher office in service to his country. NOT to write books and do TV!

Meant to say your universe from which you pull your sample is the Knights of Columbus and your local parish.

You are still a pothole.

How did you feel about Ronald Reagan?

The “Sarah is a quitter” objection will not go anywhere because its clear to everyone (those who like her and those who don’t) that she is not a quitter. If anything, she has demonstrated she is a fighter that is willing to take the fight anywhere in order to win.

I’m not saying that she would get the support from the independents to win, but the argument that she is a quitter would be treated as nonsense by the general public.

Most American’s (other than conservatives) have a very low expectation of politicians and Sarah would on the whole come across as being honest and trustworthy. Unfortunately, honest and trustworthy does not get one elected when the other guy promises free benefits to all.

I don’t think I would withhold my vote if Palin were the nominee

So, if the choice was between Obozo and Palin, you're not sure you would vote for her? I think you might have taken a wrong turn somewhere on your way to FR.

She took advantage of the opportunities that exist in the US.....

Yes, by quitting the job for which she had campaigned and to which the people of Alaska had elected her. That is the crux of it.

AP, I will enjoy reading your reaction when she announces. They sure can’t find anything negative to report on Obama, can they? But Palin will bring it to light and these pathetic, lame attempts at bringing her down are going to backfire. Looking forward to it.

Aren't you the pothole who said he would have stayed in the job even if it bankrupted your family and brought the Executive Branch of the State of Alaska to a grinding halt?

... and many others. People talk to a few like minded folks on FR and think they have an unstoppable majority. Not the case...I don't think FR is representative of anything but FR. But that's beside the point...what it boils down to is just my opinion and I agree that's about as valuable as a wooden nickel. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

I don't understand how people can so blithely accept that fact. That points to at least the potential for a huge character flaw! Not a trait I want in my next President.
