The Supreme Court ordered California on Monday to release tens of thousands of its prisoners to relieve overcrowding.
It is one of the largest prison release orders in the nation's history, and it sharply split the high court.
In dissent, Justice Antonin Scalia called the ruling "staggering" and "absurd."
Now, he said, the majority were ordering the release of "46,000 happy-go-lucky felons." He added that "terrible things are sure to happen as a consequence of this outrageous order."

I think we need a wall between AZ and CA a lot more then we need the fence between the US and Mexico. Quick everyone, man the barricades.
California needs to outsource the holding of any non-citizen prisoners to their home countries. Pay Mexico a few dollars per day to host Mexican citizen prisoners, etc.
It would save a FORTUNE over paying American union wages to hold the same prisoners.
>No may issue CCW
No hi cap standard capacity magazines
no NFA items
no "assault weapons"....whatever that is
Liberal AG, Liberal courts, liberal pro-bono/pro-criminal attorneys,
No Taurus Judge pistol;........
Nevermind, I won't be moving to Paso Robles anytime soon.
This is what happens when “empathy” replaces “rule of law,” and when political ideology, not the fundamental principles of the U. S. Constitution, motivate those appointed as justices.
What could go wrong?
We could release and deport the illegals, if we had a border.
Or, we could brand the illegals on the forehead, release and deport them.
This isn’t going to end well.
They didn’t say where they had to release them. Release them to Cuba, the way Cuba did to us years ago.
Amazing though 46,000 convicted criminals hitting the streets. I wonder how many are death row prisoners.
Don’t laugh, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least.
This will certainly help improve California’s business climate.
I suppose the next time I go to california I should use the google maps “avoid ghetto” routing instructions.......
The crime wave won’t be limited to CA so everyone in the surrounding States had better arm and ammo up!
Thank heavens that they have strict gun control laws in Kommiefornia. Otherwise, this might be dangerous!
“There comes a time in the history of every people when they become so pathologically soft and tender that they actually side with those elements of their society that harms them..i.e. criminals”- A Great Historian 1888
Or, alternatively, build the prison right there at the border with Mexico out in the desert. This would be a hard-times type prison, so it has plain food, no salsa, no corn tortillas, no meat ~ just beans, and corn fritters on Saturday.
There's a secure fence running many miles along the border from the South side of the prison. There's no way anyone can cross the fence.
There are NO LOCKS on the doors on the South side. In fact, the doors are always open, and as long as prisoners want to go out those doors they are free to do so.
Just inside the doors there are machinegun positions keeping out those who might try to enter the prison from Mexico. No matter how nasty a criminal might be he is able to just walk free by walking into Mexico just out the door!
They are likely trying to save money by doing this...dangerous game to play as the cost to the citizens will esculate even moreso...idiots.
What are the solutions...Spend more public money to relieve overcrowding, or just execute them all?
Once again, whenever civilization is being destroyed, Anthony Kennedy is standing at the nexus.
Ted Kennedy’s fiendish Robert Bork operation is the gift that just keeps on giving...
They’ll be letting loose a drove of Obami demonstrators/activists to conger up more votes for him. Hire a mob sort of thingy.
Release them over the Marianas.
