I love Texas and enjoyed listening to all the liberal loonies crying in Austin about it!
Way to go TX. I do hope you are the first of many to follow.
Apparently Alaska cut actual spending in 2009/2010 or something
AUSTIN — Raising hopes that lawmakers can avert a midsummer special session, legislative leaders forged a little-time-to-spare budget agreement Friday that cuts government spending by $15 billion over the next two years.

and the educators are crying foul !!!!!
I love TX....
A real, actual cut? Not a reduction in the rate of increase?
Maybe Perry for President ain’t such a bad idea after all.
Wow....and children and the elderly are not starving? Hear that California?!!!
Today, in Austin, Texas, the men and women of our legislature showed it can be done. Thats a tremendous accomplishment for Texas and its a shining beacon of hope for America.
Oh goody, now we’ll be barraged by the doom and gloom, “we’re gonna lose teachers” propaganda.
Meanwhile the construction of the $60 million hi-screwl foobah stadium in the neighborhood keeps going ...
This is a big deal. Texans should rightly be proud of their state for this.
Let’s not forget that Texas also just passed an Internet sales tax. All in the name of “Main Street” fairness. Funny how that fairness is actually being pushed by Wal-Mart (not Main Street) because Amazon is cleaning its clock. Wal-Mart also shoved through an Internet sales tax in its home state of Arkansas.
Before anyone gets teary-eyed over budget-cutting, let’s look at the taxes that were imposed to avoid real cuts, and the rainy day fund billions that were tapped to avoid cutting spending too.
Bunch of leftists pretending to be fiscal hawks.
Wow. Impressive. It makes Texas our most vital state and rivaling any other state in the diversity of its population, economy, and international reach.
Those responsible should be considered for national leadership.
Rick Perry would be great for America if he could bring that same insistence on reality to the national level.
I expect the reverie will be short-lived and end when the local governments find out how much appropriations have been cut and RAISE PROPERTY TAXES MORE and AGAIN.
First they raise appraisals even in a falling market then rates.
Than you, thank you very much (Elvis)
Impressive.
Just another reason to love living in Texas!
So we have to scrimp a bit...we’ll survive and thrive! :)
The oil bidness is booming, and contrary to what the MSM and
the goons in DC think, their profits and revenue will re-fill
our coffers nicely, because we don’t demonize them here!
