I just got off the phone with Abraham Foxman, the Holocaust survivor who heads the Anti-Defamation League. He does not agree with the claim by some Republican 2012 presidential candidates and conservative commentators that Obama threw Israel under the bus in his Arab Spring speech yesterday.

I don’t understand how this guy got through the Holocaust. With his attitude, I would expect him to be pushing everyone out of the way to get into the shower first.
Because, as we all know, just exactly what that whole place needs is one more structure for negotiations.

I resent this just as much as a Black person might resent the statement that Al Sharpton is a “typical” American Negro. Foxman is garbage that unfortunately happens to be Jewish, and Sharpton is garbage in a Black package. Either would be garbage no matter how they were packaged.

They were called JUDENRAT. They wore armbands with the star of David on them. They helped round up the jews and they packed them in the cattle cars. They also played music while the lines of jews went to the showers.
They were told that they would either get to live as sexually sterile enemy aliens or they would be the last Jews to die by the Nazi regime. All Jews should be familiar with the history of intra-Jewish traitor movements. Judenrat was just a more modern version of an age old problem.
I would say the ADL and “reform” Judaism is another manifestation of this same illness. Just like “Unitarian” and other pro-vice “flavors” of Christianity render the same disservice to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Always be wary of the enemy within...
Because you always start negotiations from a place of greatest weakness. It shows you are willing to give everything up for a good result.
