Another candidate has entered the Republican presidential field.  Former Godfather's Pizza CEO Herman Cain announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination in his home town of Atlanta, Georgia today.  Instead of announcing via social networking websites, Cain, currently a talk radio host, made his announcement at a rally in Centennial Olympic Park.

On his website, Cain writes, "The biggest barrier to solving many of our national problems is lack of leadership."

If a communist rag like the AJC printed that there was 10,000 people there you can bet that there was more. I say Cain’s 15,000 count was corerect.

I can only assume you are being sarcastic. I stand by my statement if the AJC one of the most liberal ‘rags’ in the country printed that there were 10,000 then there were far more than that.

>>but we need more than “trust my judgment” as reason to support a person applying to take on Obama.

Yeah. A “trust my judgement” guy did pretty good against Carter....but this is Obama we’re fighting now and we need established, experienced politicians for this campaign! /sarc

I think you meant 15,000. There were 1,500 packed around the stage, on the right of the photo.

Chessplayer, Why don’t you give it your best shot. Palinize Cain for us.

You were practically hyperventilating during the Japan nuke crisis, and you showed yourself to be a Liberal. I would expect nothing less than for you to post misleading information now about the turnout at the Cain rally.

Here are a few of your posts:

1. Nothing to fear. Everything is under control and there is no danger. sarc/
2. “Countdown to ‘radiation is actually good for you’ posters showing up.”
3.Almost 150 miles away, but fear not. Everything is under control and there is no danger.

Great! I’ve read about half a dozen on this thread that would make great tags or bumper stickers! :)

They are good aren't they? I started a running list. My favorite

Here I Am!

Those are great. but I think I have a new favorite -

“We can Re-CAIN the White House!”

That one is bumper sticker size :)

Is there a separate thread for slogans, and bumper stickers?

Or a page on Herman’s website?

“I’d prefer a flat tax.”

I don’t like the IRS that much.

I hear that. But a rose by any other name. Whether there is an income tax or a sales tax there will a tax collection agency and they'll go after people or businesses that don't pay. Like everyone who lives near the Canadian border that is gonna "smuggle" goods across.

They could have renamed the KGB the "Fuzzy Bunny Peace Patrol" and it still would have been the KGB. ;d

RE :”I am just about feed up. In 2008 after McCain got the nomination I decided that I was not going to vote for the first time since I turned 18, but then he picked Sarah and not only did I vote, but I worked my ass off trying to get them elected. Her (yes and McCain's)autographed picture hang in my den, but I am a believer in you are like the company you keep and if Sarah backers have become so obnoxious maybe Sarah isn't the person I thought she was.

WOW, I remember threatening my Republican friends that I would vote for Hillary if McCain got it(not that it matters in this state). Fortunately I never threatened to vote for Obama.

Regardless, I still think it is better that Mccain lost than won, As bad as things are they would be MUCH worse with McCain, Pelosi and Reid running things.

Not only would a sales tax be less intrusive, it would stimulate the economy. We have the most absurd taxing system on earth. I’m glad it hasn’t been fixed yet though. I don’t want to unleash the powerful boom until government spending is dealt with.

“But a rose by any other name. Whether there is an income tax or a sales tax there will a tax collection agency and they’ll go after people or businesses that don’t pay.”

Not really. The IRS needs a huge budget unlike sales tax inspectors. Businesses would actually suffer less scrutiny, and people in general? Zero scrutiny.

The power the IRS is too great a tempation. Every decade that a powerful group like the IRS exists, the more corrupt it gets. Grassley and other senators uncovered a huge can of worms in their IRS investigation, and that was a whitewash. Judicial Watch uncovered TARGETED auditing during the Clinton administration. At the same time, democrat and ruling class kamizars can cheat all they want.

Please bear in mind ... I only want an honest answer.

I like Palin and Cain both. Other than his devotion to the excellent Fair Tax, what makes him superior to her? Is he strong on borders?
