Makes sense. It's a shame Republicans always shoot into the circle. Both RNC and Congressional Republicans seem to be missing any instinct for strategy, marketing and execution that Trump, with all his considerable flaws as a candidate, could well have provided.

Because he never was a Republican and he would rather feed his ego running as the first “No Labels” guy.

Why Donald Trump dropped out as a potential Republican presidential candidate

Because he's a moderate and wouldn't win the nomination. Simple.

He dropped out because his one-trick-pony, jumping on the birther bandwagon, was taken out behind the woodshed and shot in the head.

He was no better than Ron Paul, a fringe joke candidate who runs on a “I’m not that guy!” platform.

Trump was a one-issue candidate. Once 0bama released his birth certificate, his issue was gone.

It also has been speculated that Trump knew - for a fact - that releasing his personal financials would be most embarrassing.

So, he bailed.

But whatever. He did the job he was supposed to do: He made Obozo look like a fool. He got the birth certificate issue front and center. He set the bar for real conservatices to follow. And he ticked off a lot of anti-birther RINO’s like Krautheimer, Rove et al.

God Bless Donald Trump. Now, may he go away.

Trump, first of all is not Repub or conservative. He bought political protection from NY socialists by demanding obambi produce a birth certificate....and, voila! The certificate, another complete fake, and no hard copy... is produced. He HELPED OBAMA, and he also did so because he was going to lose his slot on the “apprentice” show. Hollywood leads Trump... that and the corrupt building codes people in NYC- under the direction of Bloomberg. So, how long does it take some dumbass repub party hack to figure that out, and not waste valuable time on trumpie? Apparently quite a while.

I love to blame the RNC and beltway Republicans any chance I get, which is often. But that’s not the issue here. Trump imploded because it was inevitable that he would. He is simply not a Republican and certainly way way way outside the mainstream of the conservative ascendency that is under way.

This happened because it had to happen. Period.

I say it had to do with his Soros connections. That and he couldn’t handle the heat anymore. Maybe Soros got to him.

He dropped out because he was in cahoots with Obama on the birth certificate issue. His job is done.

This was all about self-promotion... never about running for President.

Adios to the chump.

"More than one journalistic observer chalked the whole venture to an elaborate publicity stunt."

"Political insiders who spoke to The Daily Caller before the maybe-candidacy ended agreed, saying The Donald’s biggest obstacle was not how serious he might actually be, but how to attract the talent needed for a serious run."

Did it ever occur to the writer the reason he was not able to attract any serious GOP talent to help him run the campaign is because all of those type of people know that this was just a publicity stunt? Any real campaign strategist type knew that "The Donald" was not in this thing for the long haul.

I agree with many aspects of the above posts, except that I did detect in Trump’s foray a surprisingly sincere degree of desire to help correct the course.

Other than that, I remain so in hopes that someone could supply the magic bullets that Reagan had been able to through his long training as a public spokesman — someone who could cut through the clutter and market an idea to an increasingly dumb, hostile and indoctrinated public.

Trump seemed able to supply the thing that is most missing from the conservative side — a necessary cynicism and ruthlessness about marketing a new direction for the nation. He has a deep understanding of the fickle loyalites and essential laziness of the public. He knows how to package a few simplified concepts (as the left has skillfully done for the past century) and sell them on a silver platter.

Plus, Trump’s many downsides have already been aired; those of any new contenders have yet to be trotted out the week before the election. It seems that familiarity with Trump instead bred contempt. Republicans are still yearning for the golden days of the 50s, when earnest moral scrupulousity was the leading edge for a candidate.

Now, we are in a horrible crisis, and our knight in shining armor should be expected to arrive bearing the bloody scars and bitterness of many past battles. We are not up against Obama, folks. We are up against Soros and the one-world international banking barons.

I don't pretend to be a psychiatrist;

however, if I had to come up with an apt descriptive Mister Trump, it would be Political Flasher.
