Trump was a one-issue candidate. Once 0bama released his birth certificate, his issue was gone.

I don’t agree with that at all. He has hammered on a number of policies, primarily economic and weak international leadership for some time now. I am surprised to see him duck out so quickly after the birth certificate because he could have made another round talking about the other issues and help shape the debate before opting out. Very strange timing. In fact, a week of rounds in the media on these issues would have gone a long way to hurt obama. A number of bad economic news stories are out since OBL that are being glossed over by the media. Only Trump could have refocused the discussion right now.

“Trump was a one-issue candidate. Once 0bama released his birth certificate, his issue was gone.”

That's almost right.

The “BC” was a big part of it, but the issue isn't gone, it just got harder. Donald never did the hard work necessary to understand the eligibility issue. After the BC came out, he knew he didn't have the information to continue and wasn't willing to become informed.

His F-Bomb laced speech was equally responsible for his dropping out. It was not presidential, offended the Christian base, and was just low rent.

Losing his position on his TV show and giving up a big pay increase, was just too much to give up.
