The Iranian government is moving forward with the construction of rocket launch bases in Venezuela, the German daily Die Welt wrote in its Thursday edition.
Iran is building intermediate- range missile launch pads on the Paraguaná Peninsula, and engineers from a construction firm Khatam al-Anbia owned by the Revolutionary Guards visited Paraguaná in February. Amir al-Hadschisadeh, the head of the Guards Air Force, participated in the visit, according to the report. Die Welt cited information from Western security insiders.

A generation ago, when the Soviets put ballistic missiles in Cuba, President John F. Kennedy took action to see that they were withdrawn. Surely we were not unaware of this activity in Venezuela. Chavez has been cozy with Iran for years. What will today's president in the White House do in response???

Intermediate range: that's with us in mind. It's interesting, with our social, economic and international situation considered. And a ping for others, who might be interested.
Our political activities and concerns are bizarre in light of domestic and international social, political and business directions. The bulk of attentions are on our internal oligarchy and feeding frenzy (forty year social/class conflict with de-industrialization and debt decline).
So how many ABM systems are our leaders planning on mounting? Another way to ask that question would be, "How proud of themselves are they?"

As long as they are aimed at NYC it’s none of the US’s business.
If they aim them at US Cities- then it’s an issue.

The Book “One Second After” immediately came to mind.
One would think North Korea may also have simular plans.

We need a real president right now, not a community organizer who’s incompetent to boot.
This has the potential to be a replay of the Missiles of October, 1962.

Monroe, oh you mean the US President who wanted freed slaves to return to Africa... He’s never heard of him, just ask Jeremiah Wright.

Not sure what you’re referring to - however, no doubt you’ll recall that the Monroe Doctrine was promulgated by President Monroe, and basically said, “Foreign powers stay out of the Western hemisphere.”

Boy, this one is simple. A flight of 10, B-52’s, loaded to capacity with 1000 pound dumb bombs, protected by a squadron of F-22’s would do the trick....everyone would be home for supper...

This has the potential to be a replay of the Missiles of October, 1962. Few people know exactly how close we really came to all out nuclear war...
In fact, few know our ships off the coast of Cuba were dropping depth charges on Soviet submarines. What our guys on the surface didn't know, was it was a Soviet submarine with nuclear weapons on board, where near brawls on board the sub were over if they should launch on the U.S.
