This is now the mainstream press treats Republicans now. They simply default to the racist charge. NBC news anchor David Gregory interviews Newt Gingrich, GOP candidate for president, and calls him a racist since he mentioned 47 million people are now on food stamps.
Listen to how Gregory mentions - twice - that Gingrich gave the speech in Georgia, clearly implying Georgia is obviously some sort of racist hot spot.

There are more whites on food stamps than blacks. The point was that the populace is forced to go on the dole due to the lack of jobs and Bam Bam is responsible for that. Heck, with the bailout money, the gov’t could have done a TVA type project and had more impact by employing people. Instead they pi8sed it away or hid it in Bam Bam’s “war chest.”

If Gingrinch draws fire for/from serious candidates, that’s fine with me. One bright spot about him & Trump even talking about running is the absolute confidence that whoever is the Repub. candidate will be the president in January 2013.
Also, many recipients of food stamps are angry enough to vote against Obama; this nonsense is just to try to keep them in the dependent fold.

Since the success of Leftist ideas depends on huge government bureaucracies, why not present downsizing proposals as reductions in the same, rather than let people think benefits will be decreased. After all, government bureaucrats rake off perhaps the majority of their budgets for 'administrative expenses' before handing the remainder to the intended beneficiaries. Federal agencies for such things as medicaid and welfare should be held to the same standards as competent private charities - 80% or more of their budgets should go to the intended recipients, or else the government agencies should be forced to reduce staff until that goal is met. An executive order should be able to accomplish this type of thing.
In raw numbers, that might be true, though I'd like to see a citation. I mean, whites outnumber blacks in this country by a large amount. But in terms of proportion, a larger proportion of black folks are on food stamps than are white folks. Not that it matters - if you can game the system, you can do pretty well with a minimal amount of work and a lot of government freebies.
