A British woman has been stabbed and beheaded in Tenerife, according to reports.
The woman was reportedly attacked in a supermarket in the town of Los Cristianos on the island.
A Bulgarian man has been detained by Spanish police.
Spanish media reported that witnesses saw the man enter a Chinese supermarket at the Valdes Shopping Centre and, without saying a word, attacked the woman with a knife, cutting her head off.
Manuel Reveron, a local a councillor for citizen security said: "Apparently this gentleman without any motive or any reason, although for this there is no reasoning, entered the shop and then cut this woman's neck and took the head in his hand outside up to the sidewalk.
"Then the security guard was able to throw him on the ground and we covered the macabre (site)."

Bizarre scene? Man, no kidding. There must be some kind of translation issue.
Guy sawing off someone’s head in public then walking out of the store carrying the head (probably had a gallon of milk in the other hand) counts as just a bit odd.
Aren't the Bulgarians the ones the KGB used for particularly nasty jobs?
Where MAH freepaid vacation? Ah wan some pah...
Decapitation is considered a sign incompatible with life, so resuscitative measures would not have been indicated.
Even $ says the guy’s a Muslim, and, beign a beach resort, the lady wasn’t dressed “modestly enough” for him..
From Wikipedia:
“Islam is the largest minority religion in Bulgaria. According to the 2001 Census, the total number of Muslims in the country stood at 966 978, corresponding to 12.2% of the population.[1] The Muslim population of Bulgaria, which is made up of Turks, Bulgarians and Roma lives mainly in parts of northeastern Bulgaria and of the Rhodope Mountains.”
It could be that this guy is just crazy. But cutting off heads tends to be a Muslim thing.
As for the word “gentleman,” give the guy a break. Clearly he speaks English as a second language, and is used to using polite terms in speaking about tourists. It’s his word for “hombre,” I imagine.
Yes they were.
Weird?
Bulgarian Man Cuts off British Woman's Head in Chinese Supermarket Detained by Spanish Police.
Happens all the time. ;)
Which was indirectly caused by terrorism (in addition to bullheaded stupidity), but not of the Muslim variety.
Maybe she was married to or related to an air flight controller from history....?

Are you admitting to being “dumber than a Moslim”?

That needs saying. And can’t be said often enough.
The poor woman. Prayers for her loved ones.
Thank you. I agree.
Witness Colin Kirby, of Tenerifemagazine.com, said: "There were people shouting. There was a Hispanic-looking guy walking behind me, looking very scruffy, muttering to himself, carrying what I thought was a joke head by the hair. The blood - it just made me think 'Clash Of The Titans'. I thought 'The guy's a nutter, it's a joke'."
I wonder how many nationalities can be mentioned in one small excerpt. British, Bulgarian, Chinese, Spanish. The Islands are just of the coast of Western Sahara, I wonder if they made it in the article. I have to read on.
Hey! I’m over 65 and live in Wisconsin (cold in the winter for those of you from Rio Linda). Should that be the next “entitlement” we demand from our Government? sarc/off
In a market and nobody is able to intervene?
Another article said an Italian man knocked him down with a motorcycle helmet. Bulgarian man kills a British woman in a Chinese store on a Spanish Island off the coast of Africa and an Italian man subdues the Amish Bulgarian.
