America is doomed if this is an emotional experience.

I lived in So Cal for a decade and I love a good burger as much as the next guy, but I just don’t get the love affair with In and Out Burger.

Give me a real cheese burger on a kaiser roll stacked with lettuce tomato and red onion on a plate with hand cut fries and a gol dang beer!

Unbelievable. My wife and myself stopped at one of those In ‘n Outs once years ago, and couldn’t find any reason to make a point of going out of our way to return. If one of those restaurants is in the way, and we are hungry we will stop and eat, but NO it’s not anything to get excited about.

It’s a burger joint for cryin’ out loud.

She actually looks like she could stand to eat a double double every day.

In-N-Out is the best burger joint around these parts, though I’ve lost my taste for their fries. It seems like very few places cook their freedom fries enough for me any more. They just seem limp and soggy. But a double double with cheese and a double helping of grilled onions is a heck of an experience.

For some reason, I find the name “In ‘n’ Out” a little off putting.

The problem with In-n-out is when they get really busy they start just slapping those things together and serving soggy or underdone fries. The burgers come out very sloppy and the fries go in the trash. I live less then a mile from one of the very first stores and I’ve ate there since I was a kid. but not very much anymore because of the above stated problems.

Two miles for a so-so burger? What dolts.

BTW, yes I have tried them before.

When I did live in So Cal and did eat fast food burgers, Carl’s Jr’s Western Star hit the spot.

It was cheap and was flavor country

Cheese boiger, with fried onion rings, and BBQ sauce. mash it down and eat.
Simple

Carls is now expensive and has lost the code.

People should realize that they can make just as good a burger on a Weber Kettle at home.

"Danielle DeInnocentes of The Colony, Texas, broke into tears after she bit into a Double-Double, a famous In-N-Out sandwich made from two meat patties and two slices of cheese."

OTOH, it's pretty easy to impress denizens of "The Colony," not exactly Denton County's high-rent district...

Texans have too many foods that are so much better than an In and Out Burger!

Great BBQ, great smoked briskets, out of this world steak restaurants using mesquite to cook over, fajitas to die for! Tell me you all don’t have local joints that put these hamburger chains to shame?

In-N-Out is what Whataburger was when I was a kid - simple menu, good burgers and fries made fresh while you wait. Now Whataburger is no better than a Sonic. That’s what happens when you get too big for your britches.

The secret menu.
wikipedia,
In-N-Out’s website acknowledges the existence of its secret menu, listing the following six choices while noting that these are just “some of the most popular items on our not-so-secret menu.”[3]

Double Meat - “Two 100% pure beef patties, hand-leafed lettuce, tomato, spread, with or without onions, stacked high on a freshly baked bun.”[3]
3 x 3 - “Three 100% pure beef patties, hand-leafed lettuce, tomato, spread, three slices of American cheese, with or without onions, stacked high on a freshly baked bun.”[3]
4 x 4 - “Four 100% pure beef patties, hand-leafed lettuce, tomato, spread, Four slices of American cheese, with or without onions, stacked high on a freshly baked bun.”[3]
Grilled Cheese - “Two slices of melted American cheese, hand-leafed lettuce, tomato, spread, with or without onions on a freshly baked bun.”[3]
Protein Style - “Your favorite burger wrapped in hand-leafed lettuce, instead of a bun.”[3]
Animal Style - “Burger of your choice with hand-leafed lettuce, tomato, a mustard cooked beef patty; add pickle, extra spread, with grilled onions.”[3]

This is their website secret menu.
