If you know anyone from Southern California, you've probably heard them wax poetic about In-N-Out Burger.
The legendary family-run chain is now winning over legions of new fans, but farther east than ever before as two new restaurants open in the north Texas towns of Frisco and Allen.
Cars lined up as far as two miles for the drive-thrus, and fans spent the night in the parking lot, for the chance to get a bite of the first In-N-Out burgers east of Arizona.
Danielle DeInnocentes of The Colony, Texas, broke into tears after she bit into a Double-Double, a famous In-N-Out sandwich made from two meat patties and two slices of cheese.
Ms DeInnocentes is originally from Rialto, California, and in a video posted online, she says she is ecstatic that In-N-Out opened a restaurant two miles from her house.
She told restaurant staff: 'You're going to see my every day'.
Ms DeInnocentes called the Double-Double 'the best hamburger in the world', and said, 'Pinch me, it doesn't feel real!'

They are a cut above but its still a FF burger.
A lot. I did that back in 1995.
I also know exactly what’s in the burger and I know it’s cooked exactly the way I want it.

Slow service and annoying rude wait staff plus higher prices happened to them.
Are they open on Sundays? Or do they close like Chick-Fil-A?
I know, those burgers years ago weren’t all that big. But they sure made some good memories.
Texas mosquitoes do not appear to notice non-toxic smoke, and the neighbors complain.
Also, due to recent dry weather there are burn and BBQ bans so some idiot doesn’t set half a county on fire.
In & Out is better than McDonald's, Burger King, Wendie's, Whattaburger than the rest. They can legitimately lay claim to being the best fast food hamburger.
Fresh beats frozen...every time.
But there are a dozen joints in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who serve hamburgers that surpass In & Out by a country mile: Keller's Drive-Inn has a chili-cheeseburger that is heaven sent...Grump's is a virtually perfect hamburger and fries...Kinkade's specializes in enormous burgers...there is a Tommy's in Lake Worth that pumps out some powerful burgers and fries...Charlie's, though, on Granbury Road in Fort Worth may be the very best of all.
If In & Out puts McDonald's out of business, it will be a net gain for the area. But they don't have the best burger in the business...not by a long shot.
Carl’s Jr served a much better product back when the Karchers still owned it.
In-N-Out is what Whataburger was when I was a kid - simple menu, good burgers and fries made fresh while you wait. Now Whataburger is no better than a Sonic. That’s what happens when you get too big for your britches.

I have not been to INNO but I can now understand their fans. The fries are a big part of it.
I did not believe the ravings from folks about Five Guys Burger and Fries.
Till I pulled into the one in Mesquite, Texas.
I have not had a simple burger and fries w ice tea like that since I was about 9 or 10 in a home-made burger joint in Louisiana.
Now I get it.

Yep I’ve settled on the 3 X 3 with animal fries...I always felt the double could use a bit more and I would seriously bust a gut on a 4 X 4!..:oP

the place is okay and they are very nice and efficient but nothing to cry over.
if you eat their every day you will be the size of drive thru real soon !
The distribution of Coors beer spread across the US pretty slowly. In the 1970s, Texas and New Orleans were about as far east as it had made it. So further east, having some Coors was a rare treat and made many other beer drinkers envious and covetous.
Having Coors might not seem so unique now, but in those days the main beers were the old styles from Pabst, Schlitz, Budweiser, Old Milwaukee, etc.
Both make a great burger, but I'd give the edge to Five Guys. It also costs more.
