In & Out is better than McDonald's, Burger King, Wendie's, Whattaburger than the rest. They can legitimately lay claim to being the best fast food hamburger.
Fresh beats frozen...every time.
But there are a dozen joints in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who serve hamburgers that surpass In & Out by a country mile: Keller's Drive-Inn has a chili-cheeseburger that is heaven sent...Grump's is a virtually perfect hamburger and fries...Kinkade's specializes in enormous burgers...there is a Tommy's in Lake Worth that pumps out some powerful burgers and fries...Charlie's, though, on Granbury Road in Fort Worth may be the very best of all.
If In & Out puts McDonald's out of business, it will be a net gain for the area. But they don't have the best burger in the business...not by a long shot.
Gotta agree - and add Smashburger (on Beltline in Addison) to the list. It might not match In & Out for sheer size of the burgers, but still puts all the "big name" chains to shame.
I happened to be in the parking lot behind the Frisco In & Out earlier this evening - their drive-through line was serpentined all through the parking lot. I overheard one of their employees saying that the walk-up wait was an hour and a half, drive-up wait was two hours. I'll try the place - after it calms down a bit.
