PLAY YOUR CARDS CLOSE TO YOUR CHEST
self | May 11, 2011 | swampsniper

Posted on 05/11/2011 12:40:29 PM PDT by SWAMPSNIPER

It happens almost every day around here, a name will come up, the polls show this or that, and right away people jump in and say," I don't like him but I'll vote for him if he is nominated, he isn't Obama".

The next step is to jump on anyone who says they'll hold out for a real deal.

Somewhere someone is reading all this, and they're figuring the odds of ignoring our real wishes and cramming another RINO down our throats.

How can we expect to be heard as long as some of us are so willing to go along to get along and so easily accept less than the best?

They are playing us for fools again! They are manipulating our hopes and emotions again, as they've done so many times already.

We can't possibly influence the nomination process this way, we can only get stuck with someone else's choice again.

People in positions of power and influence read our forum, they hear what we are saying. Some of them respect our opinions, others follow this forum with a very different motive. Don't give them anything to use against us.

"Loose Lips Sink Ships is as true now as it was 70 years ago". The battle we are fighting isn't just in the middle east,it is also here at home.

Just start saying, “I haven’t yet figured out if he/she is a da**ed RINO or not.”

It is the illusion of choice.

Ya know, if Jimmuh Carter were to utter the words, “Birth Certificate”, there would be a gaggle of FReepers spamming every thread DEMANDING that we all drop everything and make him President..

Okay - I’m exaggerating, but only a little, to make the point that our enemies would probably be pretty hard-pressed to get any kind of accurate ‘read’ on our thoughts and intentions by reading what some of us post....

;)

Does that mean we have permission to hammer the “Palin is unelectable” trolls?

Grassroot conservatives have one chance, and that is to shape and win the Republican primary against any RINO! This is now the time to come together to muscle in our guy/gal. If we can not win on our own side of the fence in the Republican primary, then we shape nothing after that, as everything moves along into the general election to attract the Independents.

If we keep the Independents, UBAMA is left with only the marxists, and the illegals.

As far as voiced policies are concerned, Sarah Palin is probably as good as it’s going to get, McCain dalliance or no. I’m getting nervous at the number of her enemies that are not on the left, however. I wish she’d declare a candidacy and make some actual campaign promises, which should either clear up most misunderstandings with her non-left enemies or else show her to be an unviable candidate.

I expect the democrat turnout for the upcoming primaries will be the lowest on record and the republican turnout will be the largest thanks in a great part to democrats that switch just to vote for the worst candidate we have.

Hey, if you can get her even interested in running we can talk.

Hells bells, if you can get her interested in even forming an exploratory committee or anything that remotely resembles a future campaign effort, I’ll talk.

It’s not our fault she isn’t running.

There’s a discovery process because we don’t have all the information up front. Then there’s the arguments over whether that info is true or not. Then the nitpicking since nobody is perfect. If they are a perfect candidate then the “too extreme” arguments get dusted off. Of course there is always the “only a congressman so not viable” argument.

I think we have the right to tell the Palin trolls to wait till Palin has declared a 2012 candidacy and has made some substantial campaign promises specific to that candidacy. If after doing so she is still scorned by many major conservative pundits, then the search will have to go further. She’s a good enough sport that she would help most reasonably conservative candidates.

Nice touch of drama.

Two years of vanity lectures like this should be fun.

LOL! I love your post. If you’re exaggerating, it’s not by much. If any Dim campaign strategists are doing opposition research by lurking on FR, they will probably conclude that it’s a lot of fringe truther-type conspiracists. Then they’ll go looking elsewhere. Hmmm... maybe it’s not such a bad thing afterall. Still drives me crazy though.

Hold out for a real conservative and keep them guessing what you'll do!

What is the point of all this, "I'll vote for him if he gets nominated stuff"? Are people who harp on this trying to prove some kind of party loyalty?

Stand your ground, demand that we be heard.

There is no reason to negotiate terms of surrender in the middle of the fight!
