Or, more likely, the Dallas City Manager will use it to re-decorate her office.
LET THIS BE A LESSON, KID.
>>On Tuesday, police said under a new city policy, the unclaimed money will go into Dallas’ general fund not back to the person who found it, as in years past.

Res ipsa loquater.
You cops should be proud.
They union in Dallas?
Andy would give them a week to claim, then Opie gets it. Remember that Andy is a liberal. My how far America has fallen.
This is a nice uplifting story. Next time a kid finds a lost item, they will have such a distrust and anger at the Gov’t, that it will be the last place they will turn the money into. This has to be the biggest kick in the teeth I have seen money hungry Gov’t officials do. Give some reward or better yet, give the finder all the cash. What right do these officials have to the money anyway.
Even Texas, esp. in the urban cesspools of Houston, Austin, and Dallas (my home), is infested with libscum.
And if that doesn’t scare you (general “you” there, not NFB in particular), well, it should.

PS If it was found in Plano, why is it going to Dallas?
Stupid child.
Moral of the story.... When you find money, DON’T TELL ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Geez.......
Don’t worry kid. God and the rest of us know you did the right thing. You will be rewarded.
As to the stingy government, just how often do you think people are going to turn in found stacks of cash now?
I hope the City of Dallas and the Dallas PD are embarassed into changing their "new" policy back to the old policy.
Ashley did the right thing but her family needed the money. There was no reward, but a thank you or “we appreciate” or whatever the congratulatory redundant answer would be. I believe in karma and that family will receive some blessing.
Thieves! This will only encourage others to never turn in money found.
What a bunch of a-wipes. Govt by the govt and for the govt.
what? this happened in Texas? i thought nothing like this ever happens in Texas... are they sure this is in Dallas, Texas?
They have what it takes to take what you have!
If I find food, I was taught that it's best to test it on a politician or a dog, first.

For those that have not seen the video (I didn’t before I posted) this kid and 6 other family members live in a 1 bedroom apartment!
They could USE the money!
She was planing on buying a car if I remember right from the video. Read the comments there, I’m down for 50 bucks if we can find a way to get it to her. I don’t trust paypal, or the paypal account posted in the comments.
Well whose ever money that was has just made an unexpected donation to the State. Talk about a hidden tax.
