INDIANAPOLIS, May 10, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Indiana has become the first state to cut off Planned Parenthood from taxpayer assistance because of its role in the abortion business.
Governor Mitch Daniels, a potential contender for the 2012 GOP presidential ticket, signed on Tuesday a measure to block public funds from going to organizations that perform abortions, depriving Planned Parenthood of an estimated $3 million in both state and federal funds.
According to the Associated Press, Planned Parenthood of Indiana has promised to take to federal court to seek a temporary restraining order and injunction Tuesday against the new law.
I bet you're a crappy poker player. Just because someone does broadcast their plans doesn't mean things aren't happening in the background. Never underestimate the actions of Mitch and his ability to get things done.
Nonsense. This isn't a card game. Do I need to explain to you the difference.
There's more to being a good executive than staying mum on important legislation and then signing it as it comes accross your desk. One needs to be an advocate too. We all have to stand up for what's right.
I really think these wonderful, caring, compassionate doctors and nurses should feel free to DONATE their own time and money to help these poor women whose lives are threatened by their pregnancy. We have “doctors without borders”, how about “doctors without morals”. Hollywood could really get behind a cause with this one.
Awesome!!!
Mitch downplays the social issues, but he quietly gets things done.
Planned Parenthood is a private business, with most of their income derived from killing babies. I do NOT want my tax money going to pay for this business. They also have a nasty additional side business, which I will not mention here.
Libtards and Dems will immediately run off to the courts to defend that hidden Amendment they found back on January 22, 1973, the most evil of all US Constitutional Amendments. /sarc
...or a conservative in RINO clothing?....or a real RINO?
nice job Mr. Daniel’s but that does not make you Presidential material...
wondering if he got his wife’s approval to do that???
as an adoptive mom I’m grateful that my son was not aborted but rather adopted...dang that kid is now 41..but still mine, thank goodness. He has been a ‘gift’ that just keeps on giving...
Perhaps a much better plan than sound and fury leading to a Democrat in office. I'd much rather see abortion actually cut than to see another "pro-life" group calling for funding and getting nothing done.
Didn't Sarah Palin do this?
“but we need a charismatic leader as President - someone that can really sell conservatism to the masses.”
What you really want is bomb-thrower, someone to counter the daily barrage of hate and lies we get from the Left.
In fact, most here want a bomb-thrower, yet a Bomb-Thrower will not be able to out throw the king of the Bomb-Throwers, the media-supported Obama.
REMEMBER SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT, FOLKS
Elections now are not like they were 10, or even 12 years ago.
We are not only running against the Democrat, but 80-90% of the media, as well, and they are a POWERFUL opponent. That squishy 20% in the middle decide elections now, and they can be very turned off by that very same bomb-throwing.
If 2008 taught us ANYTHING, its that people will vote against their own long-term interests, if the idiot box tells them to.
God Bless Indiana..............and please help change minds, also, in the next Prez election.
Thank you for your posts.
IMO, he’s too cautious.
Not what we need now...
Yeah, except that Hollywood already gets plenty of behind.
Gotta love the folks in flyover country.
All RIGHT! Let’s abort the FUNDING for this ghoulish business!
The feds will probably be funding them directly at “school health clinics”.
Daniels actually cut off funding for PP in his state.
Your girl actually appointed a former Director of PP to the Alaska Supreme Court.
You will note that most freepers who dismiss or denegrate Daniels are aggressively for Palin. They see him as a threat to her “destiny”.
