A Cleveland man was attacked by a housecat Friday afternoon and the man's injuries are so severe that he had to be taken by air ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.
The altercation between the man and the animal occurred at a home on CR 3182 a few miles south of Cleveland in Liberty County.
At some point during the attack, the man and the cat reportedly were injured by a knife the man was holding. The man was taken to Cleveland Regional Medical Center before being transported to Houston.
Game wardens Danny Diaz and Adam Broll captured the cat. It was taken to Big Thicket Animal Hospital for examination.
The man's identity is unknown at this time.
Cats have been known to substitute in a magazine full of blanks...

not exactly what you’d expect
And they love knives because they are shiny.
Sometimes humans have what I think is called temporal lobe seizures, when they manifest bizarre or uncharacteristic behaviors, then get post-seizure sleepy for a while, then go back to normal. It’s sad because they don’t know they’re doing it (amnesia after the event.)
Something fishy about this story.
Cats don’t ‘attack’.
The man was probably trying to kill the cat and the cat fought for its life.
I remember something about donning a flak (sp?) jacket and steel mesh gloves. Or maybe that was, “Cat Bathing as a Martial Art.”
One Universal Rule (Sheesh, you’d think everybody should know by now) -
Cats Are Always Right.
I remember the line:
Cats have been known to fall into a full bathtub and escape without getting wet...
How bad are you hurt?
Just a flesh wound...
VERY nice.
The only parts that don't hurt are the ones that got eaten.
When Lizzy wants cheese, she does NOT mean later.
I’ve heard of cat scratch fever, as well as their bites. I have a friend who was hospitalized because of a stray she was trying to bring in who bit her, and she developed a serious infection that required hospitalization.
However, the stray I took in last winter has this terrible habit of “grabbing” my hand with his big fat claws, or scratch my exposed arm for affection.
He has 5 teeth in his little mouth, one being a fang. He ALWAYS manages to get me with that fang (head tilted). My co-workers teased me about being a cutter (yes, it was that bad). Now I cover my arm that is next to him, which has lowered my “cutting”.
He is a stray I took in last winter so I have no idea what type of life he lead prior. What I do know is that he belonged to someone and was dumped.
He is a love bug; however I am not allowed to touch him below his neck. When I ferminate him, he freaks and bites me, but he has 40000 layers of down and fur!
I know he loves me and thinks of me as his mommy, but something happened to him that will not allow a total trust with me.
That’s okay. He’s safe now and has a permanent safe home. I love him with all my heart (even though I believe he might be gay. I thought he was a girl when he lived in my backyard, hence his name Mimi).
Crush the pill, mix with a thick gravy, put it into a needle less syringe, squirt into cat’s mouth, let the cat bite the syringe if he feels like it, it won’t bleed! :)
One of our local sheriff’s deputies was attacked by a cat on a home call.
The deputy couldn’t fight it off, and finally shot it.
