Osama Bin Laden's deputy led U.S. troops to the Al Qaeda leader's hideout so he could take over the terrorist group, it was claimed today.
Egyptian Ayman Al Zawahiri, who has been touted widely as the man who will succeed Bin Laden as the head of Al Qaeda, turned his back on his terrorist leader following a prolonged power struggle, according to a Saudi newspaper.
The plot to get rid of Bin Laden began when Zawahiris faction persuaded bin Laden to leave the protection of the tribal areas along the Afghan-Pakistan border.
Al Qaeda's Egyptian faction then hatched a plan to dispose of Saudi-born Bin Laden after irresolvable divisions developed between the terrorist group's top two men.
'The Egyptian faction of Al Qaeda is defacto running the organisation now and since he was taken ill in 2004 they have been trying to take full control,'

Was Bin Laden betrayed by his right-hand man? Al Qaeda's deputy leader 'led U.S. troops to Pakistan hideaway'
It’s plausible but on the other hand not a big pay off for the courier as things turned out. Our guys have gotten awfully good and they had tracked the courier before he could have led them anywhere.
I think it’s plausible. Especially since Obama has been doing so much to promote the terrorist takeover of Egypt.
Quid pro quo. Obama deposes Mubarak and gives Zawahiri Egypt, and Zawahiri gives Obama Bin Ladin.
And I believe the Pakistani government went along with it, since they did nothing to intervene when the Seals went into Bin Ladin’s compound. I’m not sure if they could have stopped the raid, but apparently they didn’t even try.
The article states the courier knew he was being tracked, and did it on purpose. It was Z’s employee apparently. I don’t know if it is true, but this is what the article stated.
And even if UBL wasn’t betrayed by Al Zawahiri, its good for the CIA to nonetheless sow dissension and distrust in their ranks.
Just to conflate...But I have been hearing rumors over the last week, that someone was expecting to collect the $25 Mil Reward on UBL.
I think this is probably true. The first suspicion always has to fall on the person who is most likely to benefit. In this case, the person most likely to benefit from bin Laden’s removal is Ayman al Zawahiri. He has to be very tired of waiting and his life is waning; time to make a change! Time to put Ayman al Zawahiri in the throne!

Yes, I read that. The infighting may have been true or not. OBL didn’t seem to be the center of the universe as in the beginning so who knows how much of a threat he was to Z. Courier guy was between a rock and a hard place whether he knew or not that he was being tracked. If he knew he sure didn’t prepare with much defensive fire power, so he would have to go the martyr route. After all he was dead anyway with no where to run and no where to hide and no re-enforcements. I doubt if he knew. They just stayed too unprepared during all those months under observation.
It does not even matter if this is true or not since anything which undermines the Z Man and makes operatives question their superiors. Sow mistrust.
I think this is all psyops. Kill OBL, and then disrupt AQ through creating suspicion and mistrust.
Ayman al Zawahiri was likely very tired of waiting
Daily Mail has some amazing reportage on this whole thing.
They were also the ones who reported that the April 25th Wikileaks dump made it clear (for those who waded through it), that the US was in possession of the full name of the courier (who just happened to be the guy who owned the “big house” in Abbottabad).
That could have triggered a stampede to take out OBL before he got wind of it.
Yup. Dick Cheney.
You may be right, but Obama is NO friend of Israel, believe me.
Gary Faulkner Says He Helped Flush Bin Laden From Afghanistan.
Gary Faulkner said Wednesday he’d like one-quarter of the $25 million reward that was offered for hunting down bin Laden.
Faulkner was found last year wandering in the woods of northern Pakistan armed with a pistol, sword and night-vision goggles. He told Parkistani authorities that he was searching for bin Laden and wanted to decapitate him
Perhaps so. And, just a simple side note, given the number of years in question, is that I wonder why Gen. Ratko Mladic doesn't get betrayed by his "right-hand" man.
Yeh, they’ll never catch on...right??
