Ayman al Zawahiri was likely very tired of waiting
the problem being, that without Bin Laden, Zawahiri has likely lost his authority; if Bin Laden were alive to publically pass power to Zawahiri and bless Zawahiri as his official successor, I am more than sure that Zawahiri won’t have to fight as he will have to now.
There will be many who will want power and Zawahiri was just Bin Laden’s ‘community organizer.’ There’s going to be a lot of internal division and I hope our ops take advantage of it.
