The Candidates...
Gary Johnson
Johnson served as governor of New Mexico from 1995 to 2002. He founded what would become one of the largest construction companies in New Mexico. He has competed in several triathlons and climbed Mount Everest.
Herman Cain
Cain is the former chief executive of Godfather's Pizza and former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He lost the Georgia Republican primary for a U.S. Senate seat in 2004. He was recently the host of Atlanta-based radio show.
Rick Santorum
Santorum served two terms in the U.S. House and two terms in the U.S. Senate. He became the Senate's third-ranking Republican in 2001. He was defeated for reelection in 2006.
Ron Paul
Paul is serving his 11th full term in the U.S. House. Hes an obstetrician-gynecologist and was the Libertarian nominee for president in 1988. He unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for president in 2008
Tim Pawlenty
Pawlenty served two terms as governor of Minnesota, from 2002 to 2010. He served in the Minnesota House from 1992 until 2002. He is the son of a truck driver.
Paul wants to reform the Fed. Says we've defaulted before, will do it again.
Cain on the Fair Tax, claiming it's 23% talks about prebate. 100% replacement for current code.
Johnson whines about not getting enough questions.
Pawlenty asked about leaving his state with a deficit. Claims it's untrue and based on assumptions. Followup hits him on having borrowed money from school districts and now being faced with paying that back.
Ron Paul fools the kids who want dope to be legal by telling them he’s against one thing and then voting for it. Since civics isn’t taught in schools and the kids don’t take the time to investigate his actual votes, they don’t know any different.
The media loves Paul because he makes all republicans look dumb.
I bet that I strongly agree with Herman Cain on every issue. The more I see him, the more I like him.
She's just plugging a major event in her state. Don't read too much into that statement.
I’ve never heard her say that. I repeatedly heard her say “they will have ground to make up” never heard her say “they won’t be president in 2013”.
Ron Paul is a Libertarian which is Liberal with some conservative leanings! Dangerous. Also if Ron Paul had been President we wouldn’t have gone after Osama. We wouldn’t have killed him either.
Herman Cain is the best one out of this bunch debating tonight.
Same here. GREAT answer about illegal immigration!
“Ron Paul voted NO on prohibiting lawsuits against gun manufacturers.”
Seemingly a good idea. But, a yes vote would:
* Prohibit the manufacture, import, sale or delivery of armor piercing ammunition. (That’s gun control.)
Everything I have read about Cain is positive. He rates up there among this group.
I’ve always considered him ‘like a blind squirrel’.
Cain is knocking them out of the park tonight. I’m incredibly impressed. Pawlenty is also doing well. Better than I expected.
LLS
Flat Tax is the way to go! The Fair Tax can be manipulated to favor certain corporations and individuals!
Johnson: 11 million illegals here.
[Johnson and the Govt need to update their numbers. It is closer to 40 million illegals.]
Agree with you on Cain but find Pawlenty too much of a greenie. He does believe in global warming and that type of view is having a horrendous impact on our economy.
Santorum asked about alienating hispanic voters. Santorum mentions father's immigration. Teaching English. Doesn't answer the question posed.
Johnson asked about an "amnesty grace period." He claims illegal immigration creates jobs. Wants a guest worker program. No citizenship just a background check and Social Security card for tax purposes.
He make the Republicans look dumber than they really hare
I love Herman Cain..except for not releasing photos I agree with everything else so far. His stance on immigration is right on and to the point.
