Usually when governments use misinformation, they use it to make themselves look good. The Obama Administration gets points for originality, insofar as it’s been using disinformation and misinformation to make itself look arbitrary, unlawful, helpless and stupid. There's another consideration at play here, too.
It's becoming apparent that much of the backing and filling taking place in the description of the incident is to align the story with "international norms of political correctitude".
The administration doesn't want to become the target of any ICJ or UN "investigation" -- so they keep altering the story.
Somehow, though, I think they've stepped in it. And gotten it all over themselves.
Woulda been so much easier for them if they'd just said "We killed the SOB...captured the body...got a positive ID...and buried his sorry ass at sea. No further comment."

Actually makes perfect sense. The killing of Bin Laden will help bring about peace. Progressives sometimes do the right things for the wrong reasons, but most of the time they do the wrong things for the right reasons.
Add one more. We were shown a picture of the situation room where they were all supposely viewing it in real time as it unfolded. Now Panetta tells us there was a 25 min. blackout and they had no idea what was happening in the compound.
Here's a couple of curious questions:
Why were three(?) Senators shown fake death photos of 0sama bin Laden, instead of real ones?
How did they get his body to the aircraft carrier, have it prepped and buried at sea so quickly?
How did they get the DNA sample matched so quickly?
If someone else was taken from the compound by The Seals, who was it?
Yeah they're hilarious! I love 'em. But they also serve as a stark warning as to just how easy it is to manipulate the media. If they released a picture/video of a dead OBL how would you know it was real? Without a body and talking Navy Seals we will never really know.
It may date me, but all day long I was thinking, kind of like the Keystone Cops!
