IIRC a Senator or Congressman revealed publicly that our intelligence people had discovered OBL's cell phone number. It was DUMBY CLINTON HIMSELF who let out the intelligence that they were monitoring Osama's satellite phone.
This was not Clinton's biggest FUBAR. Clinton is very afraid even now that one day America will know what his biggest mistake was.

” Our present state of national peril is nearly 100% owing to our gutlessness in regard to the proper disposition of threats to our national security; both foreign and domestic. “
Do you remember that one of GWB’s *first* actions after the 9/11 attacks was to announce that Congress would no longer be privy to information above a certain classification??
(And, it was also the first time, of many, where he knuckled under to the Media Squawk, and rescinded the order two days later..)

They both deserve credit (W & O). It’s as simple as that. To deny either one this deserved credit out of partisan bitterness is childish.

The Pakis have been playing us for fools. Everybody and their mother knew who was living there for the last 5 years.
I bet you the local street vendors knew who was living there.
And none of them was interested in a $25 million reward.

It was leaked by the NYT’s were were able to track his satellite calls.

I agree. I was one of the first (if not the first) freepers to give credit to Obama in fact. Problem is, the Dems seem intent on spinning this into something else. This is an American victory, simple as that.

Was Obama going to wait until just before the election, but then came Trump, BC, and the economy sinking into despair? You could be right!

I do recall both the announcement, and the retraction; one of many depressing moments during the GWB Admin.
We needed a man of steel. We got a man of lead; heavy enough, but couldn’t take much heat before going soft.

Fiber optics, probably from the near by military academy.
Not internet directly, but via some other servers.
They do the same thing for radio control of drones. Controller transmitter is remotely controlled through fiber optics.
