The Obama administration has photographs of Osama bin Laden’s dead body and officials are debating what to do with them and whether they should be released to the public, officials tell ABC News.
“There’s no doubt it’s him,” says a US official who has seen the pictures and also reminds us that OBL was 6’4”.
The argument for releasing them: to ensure that the public knows and can appreciate that he's dead. There is of course skepticism throughout the world that the US government claim that it killed bin Laden is true.
The argument against releasing the pictures: they’re gruesome. He has a massive head wound above his left eye where he took bullet, with brains and blood visible.
In July 2003, the US government released photographs of Saddam Hussein’s dead sons Uday and Qusay Hussain but not until after they’d been touched up by a mortician, making them look not quite real.

Those of you calling this a hoax: Please be aware you are not just accusing the POTUS, you are accusing the entire US MILITARY of fraud.

Absolutely essential to release pictures, video and anything else. Unless it compromises security.
We need to shut up the nutcases everywhere that won’t believe it.
Is it “fraud” when the top military officials obey direct orders from their CIC to participate in a disinformation campaign? What if said campaign is presented as a means to smoke out certain elements in terror organizations?
For some reason, liberals are obsessed with the height of bin Laden and have repeated it ad nauseum as a reason Bush should have gotten him in a few months. For some reason they think he was hiding out in Munchkinland, not Pakistan..
If bin Hidin’ is in fact dead, this will be Obama’s biggest eff up yet. bin Laden did not have the influence on AQ that he did 5 years ago. AQ has become so decentralized it hardly resembles the organization it did on 9/11/01. And for every one we kill, bin Laden included, there are a dozen more to take his place.
What Obama has NOW DONE, is to not only hit the AQ hornet’s nest with a fire hose, he has beaten it with a broom to make sure ALL the hornets are good and pissed off now. Every military base in CONUS and overseas now has a HUGE BULLSEYE center of mass. Every major city has now become a potential ground zero for what will no doubt be a dirty bomb. The Pakistani government is now up in arms and seeing red for us carrying out this mission without telling them about it. And that goes double for the Paki people. We had a tenuous enough relationship with them BEFORE this. Now Obama has in as many words told them we didn’t trust them enough to not tip him off before we pulled the trigger on this mission,
There is going to be NO LIVING with the Muslim in Chief now. He will strut around like cock of the walk spouting “I did what Bush could not do. I truly am the savior of the world.”
Lastly, am I the only one to see the timing of this mission more than just a bit suspicious? In light of his fake birth certificate coming to light, what better a way to get the heat off him and return him to messianic status than to take out the number one terrorist in the world, if in fact it has even really happened?
Show us the body and get a different photoshop “expert” than you did to fake your birth certificate to doctor that photo too.
Just when you thought Obama bin Ladin could not do anything more stupid, he lowers the bar yet again.

I understand your point, and I agree - his place looks out of place relative to the surrounding structures. But, I'm kind of surprised how suburban it all looks. Granted, I have never been to Pakistan, but I have been to Iraq and this place looks exponentially more accommodating than even the most "swanky" areas surrounding Baghdad.
By the number of athletic tracks, there seems to be pretty dense concentration of schools - both secondary and collegiate. There's even a golf course less than a mile away. It's all remarkably "western".
Ahem......
It seems that Pakistan is about 7 to 8 hours ahead of Washington time.

My guess is they will do it as the final leg of the Trifecta (Healthcare, Birth Certificate Release, Death of Osama). He will likely wait until closer to the election though.

The photo file will be sealed and taken to a secure vault at an undisclosed location somewhere in Hawaii.
Later, the OBL photo file, along with other secret files, will be taken to Area 51 to be forever sealed.
Meanwhile, the Obama administration has been hiring many of “Holders people” for the “shovel ready jobs” required to speed up the process of carving Obama’s likeness onto Mount Rushmore.
In other words, no different than 80% of what Hollywood puts out.
Oh, and the reason they haven’t released the photos is that they would reveal that we didn’t kill him in a SEAL raid.

Are they kidding? There is no debate. We had to visualize our fellow citizens final minutes on a hijacked plane, jumping a hundred floors to their deaths, being burned alive, being buried under rubble, bloodied faces and bodies, broken bones, beheadings, etc., but we don’t have the stomach to see the demise of the devil?
