Evidence mounts that government, not gun shops, arming Mexican cartels
Seattle Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 29 April, 2011 | Dave Workman

Posted on 04/30/2011 6:47:31 AM PDT by marktwain

PITTSBURGH — As the National Rifle Association gathers here for its annual convention starting today — an event that NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre predicted to this column yesterday would attract possibly 70,000 people — there is mounting evidence that this country’s government, not its gun shops or gun shows, is largely responsible for arming Mexican drug cartels.

That revelation, plus the fact that Capitol Hill sources told this column on background that Congressional investigators remain in Arizona, interviewing various people in connection with the Project Gunrunner/Operation Fast and Furious controversy, will boost the NRA’s contention that American gun rights are not responsible for Mexico’s criminal wrongs.

This new information, detailed yesterday by Fox News, and discussed by this column here, gives NRA new ammunition to oppose an effort by the Obama administration and embattled Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, to expand reporting requirements on the sale of long guns in Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas. Many in the firearms community believe this expanded requirement, as reported by Reuters, would be instituted not to thwart gunrunning to Mexico, but to “soften up” gun owners and retailers nationwide to the notion that multiple sales of all firearms will be reported to the ATF. This back-door gun control strategy would be expanded nationwide.

Here is what Fox News said about the U.S. government’s own culpability in arming Mexican drug gangs:

You can't buy this stuff at a U.S. gun store. So where do the cartels get it? According to leaked diplomatic cables, there are three sources.

1. U.S. Defense Department shipments to Latin America, known and tracked by the U.S. State Department as "foreign military sales."

2. Weapons ordered by the Mexican government, tracked by the State Department as "direct commercial sales."

The cover story that this was a "sting" operation to get at "bigger fish", is an implausible bit of subterfuge, IMHO. No one has explained how allowing these guns to cross an international border, into an area where the ATF has no jurisdiction, and in which the ATF has failed to even allow knowledge of the operation to the Mexican government, could help get at "bigger fish". It makes no sense. Perhaps someone who has experience with "sting" operations in the war on drugs can explain to us how this was supposed to work. I have talked to people in the business, and they don't see how this could have worked the way that it is described.

Maybe this was a mixed up version of the cash for guns programs we had in the states, except in this case they gave the cash and some corrupt people furnished the guns.

Don’t know the facts, but this isn’t good news IMO.

It is pure betrayal and those atf agents aware of it should have put their asses on the line and called a press conference right away as it became known!

In order for the bribes to be paid the cartels must be able to protect themselves.

The most logical answer would be to observe zero’s modus operendi. What’s going on in Mexico is also going on in Syria, Libya, and already took place in Egypt, Tunisia. Topple the government and leave it wide open for a dictatorship, unless oil is involved, then it has to be Soros friendly.

There's an obvious reason why the Obama administration wants Mexican drug gangs heavily armed by 2012.

It´s just another turn in the wheel to wreck this country, thus steve is very satisfied. And to think the cowards in Congress will do anything to stop it is fed by delusions of grandeur.

Bingo!! The publicly stated purpose is pure bunkum, so a more sinister ulterior motive must needs be assigned...

WHAT IS THE MERIDA INITIATIVE? The US Congress passed legislation in late June 2008 to provide Mexico with $400 million and Central American countries with $65 million that year for the Mérida Initiative---to fight drug wars. The initiative was announced 22 Oct 2007 and signed into law June 30, 2008.

THE FACTS ARE THESE : Mexico is calculatedly staging the "war on drugs" -- with a hidden agenda--to wage war against the United States USING OUR TAX DOLLARS. Using deceit and guile, Mexico has infiltrated the US political system, from domestic to foreign policy, as well as L/E. The Mexican govt is sending millions of Reconquista shock troops from Third Worlds over the border (illegal aliens) coaching them about taking over the US system.

Mexico is the staging area for Central and South American Third World illegals to stream over the border into the US.

==============================

Central America and Mexico are conning the US -----extorting US tax dollars to support Marxist/terrorist movement via the Merida Initiative----a despicable con to arm its police and military using US tax dollars to protect terrorists and drug cartels who are moving across the border into the US.

============================================

Clearly, the Mexican govt is fomenting drug violence in order to: (1) get billions of dollars in US assistance, and, (2) to help their populations flee over the border claiming they are victims of violence and need "asylum." Asylum claims gets illegals thousands of dollars in SS funds.

Mexican Federales are getting rich using some familiar strategies:

(1) plotting to become a ward of the US;

(2) faking victimization;

(3) secretly revving up internal conflicts;

(4) play-acting the ignoramus;

(5) claiming they can't "control" their enemies without US money;

(6) organizing voting blocs----exchanging votes for US cash.

ACTION NOW---Stop all funding for this con game. Tell your reps to stop funding the Merida Initiative scam now.

===========================================

Obama and Mexican President Calderon are closer than a kiss. Calderon recently came to the US looking for a-n-o-t-h-e-r handout----$1.5 billion.

ANSWER THIS How will cartels get drugs and guns in and out of the US?

Obama and Mexican Trucks
Townhall.com, April 12, 2011 | Phyllis Schlafly
FR Posted by Kaslin

Barack Obama's deal with the president of Mexico to allow Mexican trucks to carry their loads onto U.S. highways and roads is new evidence of his high-handed solo behavior that has become Standard Operating Procedure in the administration.

Obama's plan is dangerous and must be stopped by Congress and public protest. Obama's deal with President Felipe Calderon, announced on March 3, bypasses Congress, defies the wishes of the American people, and looks like the action of a Third World dictator who thinks representative government is a nuisance and can be ignored.

Congress made its wishes emphatically clear in 2007 when it voted to continue our ban on Mexican trucks. The House roll-call vote was 411 to 3, and the Senate's was 75 to 23.

Obama's deal is a direct attack on the jobs available to U.S. truck drivers because it helps big-business interests cut their costs by hiring cheaper Mexican drivers.

Feds (taxpayers) Pay To Upgrade Mexican Trucks, US Trucks Not So Lucky
http://radioviceonline.com/ ^ | April 12, 2011 | Steve McGough
FR Posted by Biggirl

A story broke yesterday concerning the retrofit of more than 100 trucks from Mexico that do not meet United States environmental standards. Our federal government is paying to upgrade these trucks, yet when the state of California and the EPA set new rules for US-owned trucks, they fine companies who do not comply.

This post is not about the environment, it concerns how US trucking companies are treated by the federal and state government as compared to Mexican-owned rigs. From AzCentral.com. For air-quality regulators, the border creates a legal barrier.

State and federal agencies can’t force vehicles manufactured and bought in Mexico to comply with U.S. emissions rules, even though the trucks cross into this country.

So the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality tried a different approach, offering to pay Mexican truck owners to replace old mufflers with new catalytic converters that will reduce harmful diesel emissions by up to 30 percent. The project in effect circumvents the more lax Mexican rules about exhaust systems. (Excerpt) Read more at radioviceonline.com ... ...

Most of the guns used by drug gangs comes from south of Mexico’s border. The small percentage that do come from the USA seem to have most sourced to the Feds.

I like that “sting operation” excuse. Next time I get pulled over for speeding I’m gonna try it! Yes, I was speeding but I was trying to catch bigger speeders. Right.

Hopefully this will be the story that ends the obummer reign.

Only if Americans start thinking again will they tie it to Obama. Obama's plan was to get the Mexican gun situation out of control, go after American guns because that's where the problem is, then get Congress to start some real meaningful gun control.

When Americans resist, martial law, gun confiscation and he does it on a big scale.

Remember WACO when it comes to a neighborhood near you.
