Listening to Col David Hunt (Retired) on Fox right now explaining how the rules of engagement did not permit the Americans the Afghan pilot killed to have loaded weapons on base. The angry pilot simply shot them execution style after he left the meeting and retrieved a loaded firearm from his office.
Have any of you heard this before? I am outraged.
How do you fight a war with one hand tied behind your back?
When they burned the Bibles so as not to offend the Muslims, I lost faith in the "mission". We are installing an Islamic tyranny in Afghanistan. We went there to overthrow the same kind of government we are now working to stabilize.
I agree. Bring them home and put them on our borders.
Has to be more to the story. 30 years ago, 9 of them would have rushed the shooter even unarmed and at least onee wld have jammed a pen through his head.
After Viet Nam my old First Sergeant, Jerry, told me stories of fragging, but they were not what you would have expected.
Incompetent officers were often relieved and put behind a desk before the NCOs could frag them. However, he personally witnessed an NCO kill an insubordinate Spec 4 in the field. The GI was endangering the unit and arrogantly asked what the NCO was gonna do about it. The NCO cut the GI in half with a 20 round burst. When the other troops asked about it, the NCO said, “Charlie got him”. But the lesson was not lost on the other GIs.
Uh...right. Sure. Right away. Our illustrious Congress will take it up immediately, no doubt....
My point was (and is) that the US military is cautious and one might say overcautious about firearm safety. I don't know how that makes me "clueless". The US military has been doing this for a long, long time. It predates Obama, Bush 43, Clinton, Bush 41, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon...
It is the same on domestic Army posts as well.
Does it matter? He loaded his weapon. The Americans gave theirs up. That’s why they’re dead. They got complacent around the hajis. You can’t blame a scorpion for acting according to its nature. You just kill it.
“You just kill it”. A little late.
Spare me the semantics. It’s the rule on EVERY FOB in Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s saved many, many lives, I guarantee you. People, even Soldiers, get careless with their weapons. I would not want to be on a FOB where everyone was in red status at all times. It would only be a matter of time before some fool killed me by tripping over his sling or some such nonsense.
Once again, we have a FR thread populated almost exclusively by people who don’t have a GD clue what they’re talking about, but BY GOD do they feel very strongly about it!
I have posted links to stories - to videos -
There HAVE been a few stories that actually made it into the American press.
There has been no outcry. Even freepers have not been very interested.
I shan't waste time posting all the evidence here today. I'm sick of all the Americans too busy watching Idol and DWTS to make a fuss about the ROE deliberately calibrated to give the enemy all the advantage.
None say TREASON - but treason it is. And those who don't stand up to defend our troops are guilty by omission.
Have a nice day.
It was definitely too late when they decided to act in compliance with the POS haji by disarming themselves. Way too late by that point.
...or treat it as a war. To heck with political correctness and “surgical” strikes!
Quit looking at it.
It makes me self-conscious.

.I can see you looking at it.
Stop it.
;-)
They are using the Barney Fife RoE. Carry the bullets in your pocket and hope you can pull them out and load the gun before you are dead.
How the **** can you be assigned a war zone and not be allowed to carry?
Preposterous!
IMPEACH OBAMA!!
Get a source on this.
This is far bigger than the Obama BC.
“Or do their stars always trump the welfare of their troops?”
Hell, they had to promise that to get the stars!
While that is stupid, I can just barely grasp it more than on a base in a country where are in engaged in a WAR!
I agree with you. It’s sickening what’s going on.
One of these killed this time was my son-in-law’s mother’s cousin, a father of three.
