Posted on 04/28/2011 10:23:44 PM PDT by CedarDave

Tx Lands Commish Jerry Patterson opens with a few jokes before diving straight into the meat of the debate over whether a possible listing of the Dunes Sagebrush Lizard on the federal Endangered Species List would put an end to oil drilling in West Texas.

Recorded April 26, 2011 at a Permian Basin Petroleum Associated rally at the Midland Center in downtown Midland, Texas.

Ten minute speech full of info, impacts of the lizard listing on Texas State Lands income (loss of 1/4 billion dollars in lease income) and down-home Texas humor.

I want Perry to wear a pair of Dune Sagebrush Lizard boots to the meeting with the Fish & Wildlife Birkenstockers.

Another manufactured endangered sub-sub-species.

Standard greenie tactic. I recall a nineties article that said by the same standards the squirrels of Lafayette Square park (cross from the White House) could be described as a subspecies.

I keep looking for a pair of panda skin fuzzy slippers, but Macy’s, Penny’s, and all the rest don’t seem to carry them. Seems like a shame to waste the pelts, given that they make a pretty good stew when you add a little green chili.

[Note to self: In the next batch, see if a little Thai chili sauce will help cut the “wild” taste a bit better.]
