(CNN) The White House released President Obama’s original birth certificate Wednesday.
The surprise release follows recent and sustained remarks by businessman Donald Trump, among others, that raised doubts as to whether the president was born in the United States.

Surely, IF we are dealing with a forged document, they would at least get the historical hospital name right.
I wouldn't even call this a clerical error. These things pile up in a 9 to 5 clerks in-box in roughly the order in which the kids were born as nurses wonder up and down the hall; the registrar then pulls them out beginning with the one on top, assigns it the next number in sequence, and proceeds to fill in whatever he/she must add. Thus little Baracky's paperwork was below several others' who were born later, but received earlier registration numbers.
I'm an agnostice about the BC, but I don't think this point is particularly important. I've just worked as a clerk in a military hospital and know how these things were done in 1970, anyway.

I really do think that Rush, Hannity, and even Levin are all under direct FCC threat. All of the conservative talk show hosts are walking in a very curious lock-step.
Something smells... Obama is pulling out all the stops to kill this.
Thats a pretty good job. Its going to be difficult to see, given the green security hash and the fact that it is simply a raised impression. Thats the point, so that a copy will not show the raised seal, only the original with the seal will.

Obama was born at the Kapiolani Maternity Hospital (as it says on his birth certificate. This hospital merged with Kauikeolani Children’s Hospital in 1978 and became the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children.
There is nothing inconsistent here.

As I recall, we declared war on Great Britain in 1812 because we did not agree with the British definition of a natural born subject. (Notice they were talking about subjects, not citizens.)
The framer of the 14th Amendment (which formed the basis for this decision) was of the opinion that it granted "native" citizenship, not "natural born."
No I'm not. I question the conspiracy explanation of "TXE" not "THX". I think the simplest explanation of copy artifacts is most likely the accurate explanation.

Apparently not. Unless a TANG-type fraud could be shown here, I think this does, regrettably, end the discussion. IMO it was never about the BC, but the NBC language of the Constitution.
Letting this stand will, at long last, establish a precedent since it is now public knowledge that one parent is not, never was, and never attempted to become a US citizen. Framers’ intent be damned. SCOTUS has never accepted the challenge of interpreting that language and this will become the established precedent.

So, if the certificate were doctored, it would have had to have been done between being issued on Monday and being released today? Or they would have had to slip in a totally different one from the one Loretta Fuddy issued (in which case, wouldn’t she notice)? Or the Hawaiian officials would have to be in on the forgery which was done ahead of it being issued??
I think there might be bigger issues if it is accepted as real (whether it is or not), like the natural born citizen question or why he fought so hard not to release it.
That is really the only angle that was ever valid. But unless something miraculous happens and the SCOTUS decides to issue a ruling defining NBC, even that is going nowhere.
The other supposed 19th century rulings using the Law of Nations definition do not appear to be carrying any weight today. If they did, Barry would not be sitting in the Oval Office right now.
