I have similar thoughts, and I’m not much of a tinfoiler.

“Pelosi let it slip, when she remarked, in effect, that ‘elections don’t mean that much’....”

I gotcher tinfoil there, but when I read that which had sprung out of Pelosi’s Strawberry/Chocolate trap I immediately thought of the entrenched Libs in all the bureaucracies throughout government that keep things anchored in the Leftistsphere no matter the temporarily elected who, or what is at the helm.

Another major reason to get rid of all the truly unconstititional “departments” under the control of the Federal Government since Wilson’s time. Those “departments” are solid anchors for abuse of the system by the left.

These CEOs who snuggled up to The Won are going to learn the same lesson that German magnates learned between 1933 and 1939...if you get in bed with fascists (and let’s face it, the Obama brand of crony capitalism is really just soft fascism in a technical sense), sooner or later, they will turn on you.

Hitler’s rise to power was largely financed by German businessmen who Hitler told what they wanted to hear—he was going to put the unions in their place and restore the business owner as “head of the household.” He did. He also ended up strangling those same business owners with confiscatory taxation, government regulation, and sometimes outright seizure. Then he took them, along with his entire country, down to ruin in World War II.

Is Obama Hitler? Of course not. But there’s a cautionary tale here for any businessman who wants to get too close to the government and accept the warm embrace of crony capitalism...they have the power to destroy you and they WILL use it sooner or later.

I watched part of that show also.

Along with the interviews with former Soviet block citizens, it was very hard to watch. The latter look at us with concern and horror for the path we have chosen. The former I fear are looking for another strong man.

” The push to target executives comes in the wake of complaints in Congress that few executives bear the cost for bad corporate behavior. The U.S. has prosecuted only a handful of individuals in the Wall Street meltdown of 2008.”

If memory serves very few politicians (none) were prosecuted over the meltdown even though it never would of been possible without the government pushing along home ownership as a right instead of a privilege. I should probably throw in federal employees as well such as those that ran the agencies involved. Just saying but this seems like some sort of declaration of war against the citizenry.

Read the article. These people have been heavy Dem donors for DECADES, long before Obama came on the scene.

Anybody who thinks that business gives to the GOP is out of their gourd. Business, especially the financial business, has always contributed to the Dems, because they want all those big-government perks. Under the Dems, the government can make you or break you, and businesses know that, so they have been trying to buy protection all these years.

But Barry has finally pushed it too far. It’s sort of like when the mob goes from “protecting” you in exchange for a regular payoff to threatening to beat you to death unless you hand over your whole business - and even a payoff won’t suffice. Barry wants the whole thing.

This means ALL Corporations must, and will, avoid administrative settlements on alleged wrong doing.

They will have to fight the government in court, tooth and nail, on every allegation.

Make Uncle Sam prove it.

There will be pseudo-elections. We’ll go through the motions. 0bama will win.

Then things will finally get bad enough for people to decide to do, not just something, but the right thing.

In an odd sort of way ...if the republican candidate wins...we’ll all still lose because the republican candidate won’t have the backbone to truly lead the country back to Freedom.

In the Anglo Saxon English governments, no bills of attainder have been passed since 1798 in the UK, until The United States in 2011.

It is illegal for the US Government to enact bills of attainders against formerly active rebels in the Civil War, somehow Obama thinks a Pharma CEO is more dangerous than the KluKluxKlan.

I dunno, I’m starting to think that the only reason you have corporate ceos making tens of millions for driving company into ground is because they’re all political hacks and have been for decades. For God’s Sake, I haven’t seen much raw brainpower in corporate for a long time, nor in the Fed/Treas either.

Folks, pay attention: this is the economic aspect of FASCISM. Left unchecked, it will get much uglier.

What you said is worth repeating — this instance is not the first case under the current administration.

We all sound like democrats...problem identified. What’s the solution though? How do we spread the message so that people BELIEVE that FASCISM is at our doorstep? Very frustrating.

This is how Hussein treats a big donor. I love it. I bet Howard loves it too /s.

Seriously, businesses big and small have got to take note NOW. Can they afford another 4 years of this fascist cr@p?? This is FASCISM and standard operating procedure for the Nazi’s.

Scary stuff.

This is raw fascism right out the Fascist’s playbooks in the 1930-early 40’s.

The good news is that we now have a good number of Freepers who recognize Fascism and its dangers.

Often in the past only crazy Grampa Dave and a few other senior citizens would throw out a yellow flag and yell Fascism when bad stuff like this happened. It looks like we have a good core of watchers in this dangerous game.

Please keep your insults to yourself (smile). But I know what you mean.

Actually it is frustrating and when I call my president a fascist, my neighbor totally disengages from the conversation. That analogy clearly does not work.

However, I have found that if I can describe the fascist behaviour without labelling it fascism, then I can sometimes engage my neighbor in a meaningful conversation.

My wife is in the mortgage industry -- talk about a fascist response from this administration -- and even her colleagues cannot tolerate the word fascist. But explain what was done as "controlling", "power grab", "wanting to be in control of the banks", "abusive" and her colleagues (who have really taken it on the chin) are all ears.
