I have long been convinced that the silvery minnow has survival mechanisms unrecognized by the so-called biologists who fight for listing of them under the ESA. I have personally observed them in surface water springs emanating from shallow groundwater several miles from the nearest stream. The surfacing groundwater is not present all the time but the next time it is, they are back. The location will remain a secret with me lest the enviros decide to “protect” them to the detriment of nearby taxpaying interests.

I agree. That damn minnow is far more resilient than the enviros give it credit for.
