I still think I would rather have this guy as the President than Obama.

Well, maybe he can brew some hooch in the joint. Ain’t exactly Napoleon brandy, but it’ll have to do/s

Just swipe some canned fruit and bread yeast from the kitchen, put it in a bottle or latex glove, shake well, and in a week or so you'll have some nasty hooch. Taste doesn't matter. ;-)

Considering the source, we do have to take this news with a gigantic grain of salt, but the National Enquirer (via the Daily Mail) is reporting that scandal-maker John Edwards is really down and out.

Considering it was the National Enquirer which broke the story about The Breck Girl's affair and baby, I find this paragraph more than a little bit condescending.

If Edwards is really down and out, it might mean he has a conscience after all.

He’s a low life lawyer who stole his wealth and then cheated on his wife.

I have respect whatsoever for the man.

Hardly.

A conscience is about feeling bad about wronging others.

He’s feeling bad about the consequences he’s possibly going to suffer - himself. Not the suffering he’s inflicted on others.

We don’t know that for sure, though I confess you’re probably right.

Dead on with all five points. I would find it far easier to find sympathy for Bernie Madoff.

When he was a practicing shyster he used to channel the views of dead people to persuade jurors to agree to million dollar awards. It seems he already has contacts “on the other side.”

edwards was dead on the inside a long time ago. Hopefully, G-d will work a miracle in his life and regenerate his heart. Sympathy for him? None. Pray for him, yes.

The writer of this article knows nothing about suffering consequences. I hope he sinks to the lowest depths where hopefully he finally sees his true character....
and then gathers enough strength to change. I doubt that he will though. People like him only blame others.

I would feel sorry for the poor guy that would have clean up the mess.

Then again, they could just let some Coyotes and a few Vultures clean it up the “green” way.

Him ending up ruined and suicidal is a tiny slice of justice in a world where assholes like him usually get away with their con for a life time.

Hard to argue with that.

Executive Mansion,
Washington, December 23, 1862.

Dear Fanny

It is with deep grief that I learn of the death of your kind and brave Father; and, especially, that it is affecting your young heart beyond what is common in such cases. In this sad world of ours, sorrow comes to all; and, to the young, it comes with bitterest agony, because it takes them unawares. The older have learned to ever expect it. I am anxious to afford some alleviation of your present distress. Perfect relief is not possible, except with time. You can not now realize that you will ever feel better. Is not this so? And yet it is a mistake. You are sure to be happy again. To know this, which is certainly true, will make you some less miserable now. I have had experience enough to know what I say; and you need only to believe it, to feel better at once. The memory of your dear Father, instead of an agony, will yet be a sad sweet feeling in your heart, of a purer and holier sort than you have known before.

Please present my kind regards to your afflicted mother.

Your sincere friend
A. Lincoln

...he never dreamed his selfish, slutty actions would create the massive devastation they have.

The lament of all those that have gotten caught.

I don't care if John Edwards lives or dies.

He came too damned close to putting one over on the American public.

Although, I'd say a childish, vain, egotistical, skirt chasing trial lawyer would probably be better than the socialistic, scamming, moslim, treasonous, mohametan POS that we have now.
