Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson announced today that he's running for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.
"I'm ready for a different America," Johnson said in a statement today. "I'm ready for the day when a person can build a good life on a decent income, and we can take our government at its word."
Johnson announced his candidacy Thursday morning on the steps of the New Hampshire State House and plans to spend three days in the early-nominating state meeting with supporters and visiting local businesses.
Could you send me the list of people who weren’t born sinful, TIA.
I agree that a new, significant third party would arise nearly instantly. Or several, and it would sort itself out in an election cycle or two.
But after getting shellacked a time or two because the new third party[ies] took as much as 15% or 20% of the vote, the Republicans might become much more committed to the cause of life.
Or not.
In which case, it's difficult to discern what our politics would like like after the disruption of the current equilibrium.
In any case, I'd vote for a pro-life third party if there were no pro-life candidate for president between the two major parties.
Not gonna vote for a baby-killer for president.

what a nice, normal name
I was in New Mexico during the final months of his 1994 campaign for governor. He took on a popular incumbent, but seemed new and refreshing, and won.
That’s puure eugenics. The next step is sterilizing the “undesirables” or maybe just pre-emptively killing them to stop the bad “heritage”.
Your views are repellent.
Rebecca Kiessling:
What rape exceptions really mean
http://www.rebeccakiessling.com/index.html
We’ve all heard someone say:
“I’m pro-life, well, except in cases of rape . . .” or
“I’m pro-choice, especially in cases of rape !”
Have you ever considered how really insulting it is to say to someone, “I think your mother should have been able to abort you.”? It’s like saying, “If I had my way, you’d be dead right now.” And that is the reality with which I live every time someone says they are pro-choice or pro-life “except in cases of rape” because I absolutely would have been aborted if it had been legal in Michigan when I was an unborn child, and I can tell you that it hurts. But I know that most people don’t put a face to this issue — for them abortion is just a concept — with a quick cliche, they sweep it under the rug and forget about it. I do hope that, as a child conceived in rape, I can help to put a face, a voice, and a story to this issue.
In reply, some have said to me, “So does that mean you’re pro-rape?” Though ludicrous, I’ll address it because I understand that they aren’t thinking things through. There is a huge moral difference because I did exist, and my life would have been ended because I would have been killed by a brutal abortion. You can only be killed and your life can only be devalued once you exist. Being thankful that my life was protected in no way makes me pro-rape.
Thank you to my 100% pro-life heroes!

I would say your ability to have intelligent dialogue has been notably missing on this thread, Leo.
And all because others will not vote for a pro-abortion candidate.
I pray that you will calm yourself during this Holy Week. Have a blessed Easter.
No I cannot.
But I do believe some people are prone to crime, it’s in their nature. Isn’t that what Scripture implies? Isn’t that what “inquity” means?
Maybe this is the problem.
I think a lot of people when they think of abortion in the case of RAPE, they think cute, smiling babies.
I don’t.
I picture the adult. And that might be why we’re viewing this differently?
It DID happen, and I stand by my statement.
You don't think anyone here is that much of a zealot?
Sheese!
All I wrote to start this sh!t storm against me was in post #24. It was objective and instructional.
I'll bet you think I'm pro abortion, don't you?
Admittedly that is an opinion. But it is based on reading your words and your responses (though you have cut and pasted them several times).
You are a piece of work, and I have endured reading all of the thread (Well, I didn't read every question mark when your pinky went spastic).
Question.
Would you have counseled Sarah Palin to abort her Downs Syndrome baby?
All the arguments you give for aborting a perfectly healthy child sound awful good when you apply them toward a “deformed” baby.
Not to mention one of the degenerate babies you were in favor of killing upthread.
I bet you'll say that how about the FREEDOM of a fetus. Yes, Abortion is horrible, but I'd rather a a person who is for lower taxes, stronger borders, engery independence and freedoms who is pro-choice then a MARXIST!!
Beautiful! Thank you for posting this.
Done!
Extremely calm.
And, unlike you, well reasoned and informed.
And anti abortion.
What are you?
A zealot comes to mind.
Pity for you.
The rest of the world is for us non-zealots, and we will enjoy it, truly.
I repeat.......calm down before you hurt yourself. OK?
To live in freedom, you have to have the freedom to live.
What a proud and growing list to be on! *grin*
We’ve been through 8 pregnancies. How many have you been?
I’m not saying pass a law to abort anybody, so why do you portray me in that light? If anybody would be pro-life it would be us since we’ve been through 8 pregnancies and have 3 sets of friends with 4+ kids.
But it’s not cut and dried and I think it’s polyannish to think that if a woman gets pregnant, it’s going to be Gerber good times. Her life is potentially at risk, she may not be mentally capable of handling it. I don’t know, loved one’s life vs rapists seed? Which do you choose?
You are truly clueless. Do you always make things up like this, or do you have a rational side to you?
