BIRTHER ALERT: 8 Surprising Facts We Learned About Barack Obama's Mother NYT Magazine Feature
Business Insider ^ | 04/20/2011 | Noah Davis

Stanley Ann Dunham, better known as President Barack Obama's mother, passed away in 1995 before seeing her son become the most powerful man in the world.

In this weekend's New York Times Magazine, Dunham gets a long profile adapted from Janny Scott's forthcoming book, A Singular Woman: The Untold Story of Barack Obama’s Mother.

The article paints a portrait of a complex woman who traveled to Indonesia with her second husband, battled the customs while raising her son and new daughter, and eventually returned to Hawaii.

As Scott writes, "To describe Dunham as a white woman from Kansas turns out to be about as illuminating as describing her son as a politician who likes golf."

The President described his mother as "single constant in my life."

maybe his mind is gone from the drugs, but I would think she was telling the truth and he is forgetting his “richly deserved punishment”

I've read that traumatized people don't really start remembering the worst of childhood abuse until they enter middle age.

The USAID types are not allowed inside the Chancery unless with an escort. There are restricted areas...the badge worn with the circular stamps..denotes the access. She was married to a non citizen...who was in the Army??

They would have been invited to some embassy parties.

Mothers ordered switch cutting in the South, too. It was not a big deal to have a few switch marks showing on one’s legs occasionally. The experience did not ruin me.

We need to have Obama get a checkup from the neckup

I don’t care when he remembers he was traumatized, I am tired of being traumatized at his hands by his policy.

I didn’t take it as you were downplaying anything. rather adding to it and I REALLY appreciate the insight you gave!

Please do anytime. It is important to know this stuff that so many of us who don’t know as you do can be educated.

As for the $25 million .. please take a look here.
It is the ultimate upside down mess we have ever seen.
It is treason and nothing short of it.

Thanks for that link. I started reading the article, but I didn’t finish it because it’s pretty long. I couldn’t agree more with you about he treason part, though. It is truly nothing less.

What I’m wondering about is, how strong has the GOP response been? Have Boehner and McConnell held a major news conference to denounce this move? If not, then in all seriousness, what are they good for? If they can’t even call Obama on a clear case of treason, why not just stop pretending and join the Dem party?

Or am I being too harsh?

They denounced the move, but NEARLY strong enough IMO. And they have not stated anything about the 25 million dollars given to terrorists on the battlefield to the best of my knowledge.

VERY dissappointing
