Donald Trump’s Incredibly Valuable Role For Conservatives in 2012 (It's not what you think)
MB26

Posted on 04/17/2011 12:14:19 PM PDT by MindBender26

Political blogs across the internet are filled with the latest Doings of The Donald: “Is Trump Really Running For President?” Depending where you look, he is/might/isn’t. Depending on the political leanings of the writer, Trump is anywhere from the AntiChrist to the Second coming of the Christchild.

The actual answer is irrelevant…. but it and Trump’s role are incredibly valuable and important to Conservatives.

In the real world of politics, of course Trump isn’t running. He would never seriously run. For ten thousand reasons, let along the scrutiny it would bring, the need to divest himself of his holdings, the need for him to spend four years negotiating and mediating, where his style, and talent, is telling people what to do and having them do it immediately. Unfortunately for him, that management style doesn’t work with Congress, the Prime Ministers of foreign countries…. or most American citizens for that matter.

If we were electing a benevolent dictator, Trump might really be interested in the job, but Trump realizes that the presidency is not a job for him and he would hate it.

Is he posturing now? Of course. Is it getting himself publicity? The answer to that is, is there anything Trump loves more than publicity? So what is Trump really doing…. for us Conservatives?

Trump is doing an incredibly important job of being our James Carville. Remember what Carville’s REAL job was, other than to do the girls that Clinton found just too ugly to spend horizontal time with.

Carville was the Official Far-Left Bomb Thrower. By saying the things he did, such as “Ken Starr should be kneecapped,” he made all the left and even far-left Dems look like moderate men of reason. Carville would say something wild and crazy, it would get mounds of media attention, then Clinton, Barney Frank or some other Dem would say, “Well, that just the Crazy Cajun… ha ha ha … but you know… in his own crazy way…. James does raise the issue of…….

Carville would raise the issue that mainline Dems were reluctant to raise, then they could hitch their wagon to the now-public discussion Carville’s verbal bomb throwing had created.

Trump is dong the same thing for us. Some serious candidates would love to have a “polite” public discussion about some of the issues Trump is raising, but don’t want to be the one tagged with raising it! Trump solves that problem for us. Can’t you just see one of the Republican presidential primary debates…

Questioner: “Mr. Romney/Gingrich/Barbour/Pawlenty/Etc….. Donald Trump has accused President Obama of not being constitutionally qualified to be president because he is not a US citizen. Do you agree with that?”

Answer: “Well, I think that’s probably just Mr. Trump blowing off some steam… and getting himself a few headlines in the process…. which he loves to do. But you know, he does raise an interesting question. Before anything, the President, whoever he or she is, has to have the faith of the American people. Regardless of who Republicans choose, I think Americans know all of us Republicans up here tonight in this debate deserve that faith. Americans know who we all are…. and what we stand for.”

“As far as President Obama is concerned, if this was just a private matter, I would take him at his word that he really is a citizen.”

“But this is not a private matter. This is the most serious of public matters, affecting every citizen. Mr. Obama has spent all his time and money… and it has been millions of dollars…. paying his lawyers to claim that he shouldn’t have to prove what every other candidate is ready…. and able to do.”

“There are questions.… how serious they are is a matter of debate… but there are questions…. such as the original birth certificate which he refuses to provide… the trips in the 90’s to terrorist-supporting countries using some foreign passport… possibly using a phony social security number.”

“The person who can put this all behind us… is not one of us up here tonight…. it is the President. Make a 2 minute phone call, tell the Hawaii authorities to release to original certificate…. Explain the Muslim country passport…. answer the rest of the questions once and for all instead of dodging them…. and the issue is over…. But if he doesn’t… people are going to continue to worry about the questions Mr. Trump raised.”

"Ending this worry is not up to us. It's up to Mr. Obama... and sometimes... I think all of us wonder... why he refuses to.... or can't.... do so."

That way, the real candidate doesn’t raise the issue… he simply reflects on Trumps questions… and the real candidate comes out a huge winner! Remember, the real winner of every debate is the man or woman who gives the answer everyone talks about the next morning at breakfast…. and that would be the huge answer on everyone's mind.

For that and so much more; thank you Donald!

Neither Fortress Investment nor Blackacre have any connection with Soros. There is a Grove Partners LLP that Soros founded in 1999 but by the time of the project in question he was not involved in the decisions it made. It was managing his assets, not he managing it. But the article to which you link does not speak of Grove Partners LLP, but rather of Grove Capital LLP. George Soros has no connection with a firm named Grove Capital. There is a Grove Capital but it was founded in 1998 on the other end of the country from Soros, in San Francisco, not New York, and has no connection with Soros. So this article to which you link appears to be inaccurate. Further, as a mere one of three investors (and not the major one of the three) Grove Capital does not appear, by virtue of the investment, to have, in any case, led to interaction between Soros and Trump.

Again, what is the point. Cohen has no connection with Soros and it is admitted that Trump has donated to Democrats and worked with them and clearly employs a man who was a Democrat and who voted for Obama though the man is from a family that would appear to be wealthy and involved in real estate entrepreneurship. That Trump employs such an individual does not seem to tell us much about what Trumps goals and intentions are. All we know for sure is that he is putting it to Obama hard, which, until his entry, we did not see from any Republican potential candidate. I confess I don’t see how his doing so at this point helps Obama. It seems to be having the opposite effect as Obama/Soetoro’s numbers are going down and would be helpful to any Republican who gets the nomination.

Wall Street Journal just reported that Trump was bailed out by Soros a few years ago.

Puts a new dark hue on the whole show Trump is running when combined with his DNC history.

If you read the actual WSJ article you will not find Soros mentioned in it.

Donald is blazing the trail for another candidate to be named later....most likely a Dem... but so long as he is attacking the Kenyan... I’m okay with that.

The premise of the article is flawed. It assumes Trump’s bottom line is always money. It’s not; Trump’s bottom line is ego.

Take Paul Newman—an guy that made a huge amount of money acting. He loaned his name to a salad dressing company “on a lark”, as he put it. He later said the amount of money he made from the salad dressing dwarfed his earnings as an actor.

The real money is made behind the scenes, not in front of a camera.

Do people realize Trump probably lost money by doing the apprentice, relative to the other business activities he could have used that time on.

Trump has already shown he is willing to forgo some amount of profit in the name of self ego.

Now what kind of ego boost is Trump looking for? He’s at the age when he probably wants to make some mark for himself in the history books.

And the fact is, in history books, politicians get most of the copy. Even the great industrialsts of the past are little more than footnotes in modern history books (if even that). Yet everyone knows who Henry Douglas is. And what was Douglas’ claim to fame: a series of debates with Abraham Lincoln.

I don’t see anywhere in the case that Soros bailed out Trump. I just glanced through the case and may be blind?

What is the status of this case today, filed in 2008??

Naming an entity as simply a RICO enterprise does not impose any liability on that entity. United States v. Philip Morris USA, Inc., 566 F.3d 1095 (D.C. Cir. 2009).???

Often the best conservative is a former Democrat, like Reagan. They know how the Democrats operate. I don’t think Trump will run but he can perform a valuable service by shining the light of day on Obama, blazing a trail for the Republican nominee. People who have told me they like him are for the most part non-political independent types. If he can get them to listen-—that’s a plus.
