There were only adults in the theater where I saw this film.....that by itself should tell you a lot.....serious folks who get the message and will come out to see things that tell the truth.
This movie will help Sarah, because it shows what a strong woman can do (railroad magnate Dagny Taggart in this film..just like "Secretariat" and Miss Penny) our heroine in "Atlas Shrugged" is a woman who will not be pushed around by men in the old boy's club....
And she is not afraid of men or against men, she is against being told to "shut up and sit down".....now to the film:
EVERYONE in America needs to see this film, because it shows frankly how the media, government, (who clearly is the villain, among others it works with and for) and those in the private sector, who are their friends (portrayed by a young George Soros type) work against everything America holds dear, and it shows how they conspire together, with each group doing it's part to hold on to their collective power...make no mistake, it isn't just government, that is just the tool they use, (like the EPA, FCC, etc.) to do their bidding while a compliant media assists in keeping the people uninformed whenever needed....
They care not for innovation, progress and the better life for all Americans and by extension the world....they care about their fiefdom and their power exclusively......
Because this is part 1 of three, we do not get the satisfaction of seeing of the wrongs being righted; but rest assured my good Freeper friends: If Sarah Palin isn't elected, you will have no need for parts 2 and 3, because you will have seen where we are, and where they are going to keep us.........
And the poor ignorant people who don’t know anything but “American Idol” and the rest of the crap TV tells them is important, are being sheared like the sheep they are.....
We could be riding around in cars getting 100 MPG, and not even using fossil fuels, but those in power try to keep the innovations away from us....and they must be turned out
I have not been able to find locations where this is playing...anyone have a link?
I loved the movie. But I have no respect for gender identity politics, I think it’s idiotic, I.e. “Mama Grizzlies” vs. “male” candidates.
I would vote for Sarah.
Unlike an *adult* who might romp around in a public park clad in a witches costume and proclaim the virtues of wife-swapping.
Check on IMDB.com
This isn’t about gender politics: the lead in the movie was a woman; Sarah Palin is the only choice and happens to be a woman....
And I AM voting for her
What planet are you on? Government Motor is giving the public the Volt.
If she gets the nomination, I will vote for her. That’s the only “if.”
.....your ignorance is showing....swap your own wife, please....when you make comments like these, you only prove my point...
I will not respond to another thing you write, but I will explain for the un-educated that the reason I did dress as a wizard was to stand out in a city of 8 million people, and not allow them to say I was a long haired hippy communist, pinko, fag, which was what happened in the 1970’s....and do you have any idea what a cross it is to bear to be that different, and that visible....you must be a white guy......any minority could tell you what it’s like....but this was of my own choosing, and it accomplished everything it was supposed to....
To this day even Glenn Beck doesn’t get what happened in Woodstock.....he thinks everyone that was there was a dirt bag, but he is wrong.....he wasn’t there.....many, many hippies of the period were very engaged in changing the world, WHICH THEY DID....Woodstock was a vacation from the war.....but there were those who hid in the crowd and used it as a cover to build bombs and kill people....
enough, post what you like, you are no longer a part of of my life...
Yeah, I just saw something about a Volt burning down somebody’s garage last night?
I see someone gave you a link, but FWIW I notice in our small city (SW MO) it’s only in one theater. I heard it’s only in 300 or so theaters around the country.
On Rotten Tomatos the reviews are completely opposite of the audience. Critics - 10% fresh Audience - 85% fresh. This movie is doing great considering the $10 million dollar budget and every hurdle thrown at them.
If this was some artzy fartzy or semi-pornographic exploration of the dark side of humanity it would be hailed as the rising star of the weekend and the box office surprise of the year. Instead, we will just hear sniping and griping. And those who see it will still enjoy it just the same.
If you think I am kidding, the critics are howling about how suprising "The Conspirator" was this weekend because it "did so well" in limited release at $1,542/screen. Uh.. guys.. did you miss something????
OK.
Yes, but unfortunately they did NOT improve it. Far from it. They helped it spiral downward into a marxist hellhole from which we have to rescue it.
Thanks for that. /s
“But I have no respect for gender identity politics...”
It would be nice is candidates, both male and female, were treated the same. I guess they do in a “perfect world” and we are far from perfect. As long as women are slammed for being too pretty, or too plain, too thin, too fat and then their parenting skills are questioned (remember when Sarah Palin was slammed by the media for wanting to be VP and that would hurt her children?)... then gender identity politics needs to be discussed. IMHO
You bring up another thing almost as bad as gender politics...the politics of “victimhood.”
I.e., poor women, just can’t get a break in the “good old boy” world.
Please. It’s a load of crap. Oprah should complain.
Mrs. JohnnyP won’t tolerate any cussing, especially taking the Lord’s name in vain.
Is this a movie we can watch together? I read the book last year. It went in the trash can after I finished it.
But, that's the point. It was the media -- not the electorate. Gender identity politics is as disgusting as racial identity politics. It's the media that we must discuss.
And I hate the "mama grizzly" crap, too (yesterday it was "fight like a girl"). There's a thin line between encouraging (will.not.say.empowering) women and belittling men. Sarah's not a man-basher like liberal feminists, but she should leave her battle-of-the-sexes baloney behind.
