on the ground now
very jaw dropping on the radar
All clear now here in South Carolina. Tornado watches expire at 9 PM ET. I see the tornado watches from this system running all of the way into central Pennsylvania.
The heavy rain in wind started in SE PA about two hours about. Lights fickering.
Now a tornado warning until 7:45 PM ET for just north of DC.
Yes, while we were eating our dinner I started to hear the “pings”. It hailed for a short while and now it’s all over. No rain here anymore. It’s all headed your way, stay safe.
Per WRAL weather facebook page, so far today, the Storm Prediction Center has collected 74 tornado reports throughout the region. (posted two minutes ago)
Thanks Backwoods-Engineer, for your information. I am concerned about 2 deaf people in that area. One is on NC 96 going to Youngsville area and one on 401 S. in Louisburg. I can’t contact them because of power outage in that 2 areas.
Goose bumps on my arms watching that on Utube...

My daughter-in-law is in Fayetteville. She just texted that there is a city-wide blackout. My son is on manuevers or whatever. She’s going over to a friend’s house for tonight. Hopefully things will look better in the AM.
OH my. Glad your daughter-in-law is ok and can go to her friends especially since the hubby is away. Salute to your son by the way. We’re proud of him. 8D

Wherever it is, it’s DEFINITELY not Japan...*sigh*
Prayers for those south of us...
At least ten fatalities reported in North Carolina per the Storm Prediction Center storm reports.
Excellent! Glad to hear it. 8D
I’m not familiar with that organization. Can you provide a link?
I’d been holding out hope that there would be no fatalities here in NC, despite the clear severity of several of the tornadoes.
Sorry...I should have provided the link...once you click, scroll down and you will see the reports.
