One of my “bucket list” items is to get a speeding ticket...on my bicycle.

Glad to hear that there isn’t any real crime in New York City. Sounds like they could lay off a large part of the police department.

This week I was in NYC for three nights. The NY State and NYC tax on my hotel room was $120.

Police brass -- who are currently pushing a widespread crackdown on unlawful cyclists...... Yes, because that's the biggest concern the NYPD should have.

In the meantime, she's now so paranoid about getting pulled over while pedaling that she keeps her eyes extra "peeled" for police and has traded her tote for a backpack. Well... then that policeman's mission is accomplished. Behavior successfully modified.
If, like she's stated, she intends to fight this, she shouldn't be changing anything she does.

Face it, you can’t name 5 things in this country the government doesn’t outright control or heavily influence. This is a tyranny we live in. Sorry.

“’You’re not allowed to carry a purse on your handlebars.’”
Wow, where I now live, my bicycle is my only vehicle.
I am going between my beach house, a second house, and market numerous times a day.
I ALWAYS have heavy plastic bags hanging from my handlebar.
I carry everything from wine to diapers.

Apparently I’m the only person among you illuminati who asked the question as to what she was going to do with the 4 year old on the bike in NYC? Put the kid in the tote bag? Strap her to her back? Drag her home behind the bike?
