Obama's Increasing Federal Debt $1,148 Per Month Per Household—Enough to Buy a Car or Pay Tuition...

(CNSNews.com) - Under President Barack Obama, the federal debt has been increasing at a rate of $1,148 per month per American household.

Overall, according to the U.S. Treasury, the federal debt increased by $3,646,116,554,704.36 between Jan. 20, 2009, when Obama was inaugurated, and April 13, 2011, when he gave a major speech announcing a plan to deal with the debt.

Given that the Census Bureau estimated in March that there are 117,538,000 households in the United States, the $3.6461 trillion increase in the debt under Obama works out to $31,020 per household.

Obama has now been in office 27 months. The $31,020 per household increase in the federal debt under his watch thus equals a per-household increase of $1,148 per month.

That $1,148 per month per household is more than a household would need to finance the monthly payments on a new domestically manufactured automobile.

As Reagan said, when politicians discuss millions, billions, and now trillions, people’s eyes glaze over.

This has been one of the fundamental mistakes the GOP has made... they need to convey to the American people that each man, woman and child now owes $125,000 and climbing rapidly — this would grab people’s attention to an amount they can relate to.

It rises to the level of treason. Period

The President and Congress, included.

Well, well, well - $1148 a month, huh?

You know, when they raise the debt ceiling it will be because the government INTENDS to make that number go up. You see, $1148 won't be enough. They PLAN to go further into debt, and that is why the debt ceiling will be raised in June.

But this could be blocked.

“As Reagan said, when politicians discuss millions, billions, and now trillions, people’s eyes glaze over.”

You are right, these numbers mean nothing to folks. Just minutes ago I read that the feds are spending $10billion a day. And I was surprised. My thought was “is that all”. It sounded like nothing. People have lives so long with these big national debt numbers that they have become lulled into complacency.

WRONG!

That's enough to buy everyone a quarter of a million dollar HOUSE!

$1,148 per month per household
X 12 Months
= $13,776 per year
/ 5.00% Interest on a 30 Year Loan
= $275,520

The approximate value of the house you could buy would be around $250K, if the other bit of your monthly payment went towards principal.

OBAMA is wasting a whole House worth of money on wild and useless spending programs that cost as much as whole HOUSE for every family in America.

Unreal!

Anyone who opposes this kind of spending is an “extremist”.

I really wonder what the progressives vision of the future in America is. They’re killing private sector jobs and spending more than we can possibly ever pay back. They’re eliminating the incentives to work hard. There has to be some end game that they envision.

I’m 55 and disabled and I’m tempted to just give up and go on disability. Why should I work 50-60 hours a week only to have the government take half my pay when I can let “the government” support me?

Instead we get a bunch of mumble-mouths. And anybody who dares to speak out (Palin, Bachmann, etc.) is ostracized by the party because they are being “uncivil”. Unbelievable.

Yep. They want to break everyone; to make everybody dependent upon on a tiny ruling class that makes all the decisions. Destroy the currency and home prices; escalate foreclosures in order to turn the populace into a nation of renters.

It’s really a re-imposition of the feudal state.

When you throw out the ones who don’t pay taxes, it is something over $200,000 per taxpayer.

Another way to think of it as is a stack of $1 bills. Beginning in 2007, when Nancy Pelosi took the gavel, that stack ($5 TRILLION and counting) now would reach around the Moon - yes, the Moon - and be half-way back to Earth. It’s growing at a rate > 10 MILES PER HOUR (which will increase as we pay more interest on our increased debt)

When he said “Wealth Redistribution”, he didn’t mean giving it to you.

Now pay your taxes, your government is broke.

I really wonder what the progressives vision of the future in America is.

I dunno... uh, perhaps ...

Just one economic zone in the New World Order. That is the vision, the destruction of the United States as a country. This is why, our congress and the Executive branch is guilty of High Treason.
