Nissan Motor Co has received complaints from owners that its Leaf electric car on occasion fails to start, posing a potential setback for the automaker's goal of promoting zero-emission vehicles.

Japan's No.2 automaker said on Monday it was looking into the exact cause, which it traced back to the Leaf's air-conditioning unit. Nissan is investigating whether the glitch was in a certain component or the programing, spokesman Toshitake Inoshita said.

I fail to see the problem.

They market a zero-emission product.

Owners want to actually start the thing, thus defeating the marketing claim?

What better way to insure zero emissions than to make a car that doesn't run?

But then there would be emissions at the other end of the cord!

This is from an article about jay Leno’s 100 year old electric car. It looks like they made them better back then. They haven’t advanced much in the technology.

““It’ll go for about four or five hours on a single charge, at about 20 to 25 miles an hour. Its range is about 110 miles, just about what most electric cars made these days will do. So we really haven’t come very far in a hundred years.”

I’ll keep my gasoline horseless-powered carriage.

Track down the review of this car which was done by Jeremy Clarkson of the British version of Top Gear. One of the funniest things you will ever read!

Electric cars & Hula Hoops. I hope the former fad fades as quickly as the latter fad did.

Au contraire, mon frere!

An automobile that won’t start is about as zero-emission as you can get!

Just think how clean ‘n green we could be if everyone’s cars wouldn’t start! :-)
