The Israeli military said on Saturday a top militant killed in a predawn raid was “directly and physically involved” in the 2006 capture of Gilad Shalit, a soldier Israel believes is still being held in the Gaza Strip.
Tayser Abu Snima, who Palestinian medics said was killed in an air strike on a vehicle along the Gaza-Egyptian border, was a key figure in the Hamas Islamist group that controls the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli statement called Abu Snima a senior Hamas operative in Gaza and said he was “directly and physically involved in the kidnapping of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit,” a soldier who disappeared in a June 2006 cross-border raid.

Even you in your enlightened mind do not state the problem correctly.
In Gaza there are no civilians. There is no difference between the average grandmother, her 9 year old granddaughter and her 27 year old Hamas rocket firing son. Until the old woman quivers in fear for the granddaughter and harangues the son into stopping that crap, she is the enemy.
I think that is exactly why Israel should limit their use. Hamas and Hezzbola purposely pick weapons and targets for the maximum number of innocent casualties. When Israel kills one leader thousands of Palestenians riot, and become potential terrorists.
I say wage Total War, just like the enemy, with the same intent but on a scale they are incapable of. Kill thousnads a few times and see how many hit the streets.
I want to see an endless line of “Palestinian refugees” pouring into their actual homelands...Egypt and Jordan.

You can bet he would like to enforce a no fly zone on Israel. I suspect that will be coming out of the UN and Obummer will be all in favor of it as his goal is to destroy Israel.

Anyone wonder why wars are never won anymore? Why we must go in with an exit plan when the exit plan used to be winning?
It is because they spare so called civilians of which there are very few in Gaza which endorses at a plus 85% rate terrorism against Israeli civilians which they don’t believe exist (see Itamar murders of infants and children, targeting of school bus, and the mass celebrations thereof).
US does the same with its absurd ROE in Iraq and Afghanistan which prioritizes the enemy over our own.
I am sick of it. No point to fighting unless the objective is to win. Winning requires subjugation of the enemy. The enemy is the entire country. We used to know this.
