John Boehner has just given away the Republican victory of 2010 at the bargaining table. Having failed to stand firm for just $61 billion in a budget of $3.7 trillion, how can we expect him to stand firm over the debt limit extension or the 2012 budget? We can't. The excellent budget proposals of Paul Ryan are no more than a pipe dream now. It violates our campaign promises to the American people. We promised $100 billion of cuts and we delivered $38 billion. Obamacare will not be defunded; welfare spending will not be cut nor work requirements imposed; the FCC will not be stopped from regulating talk radio; Medicaid will not be block granted and turned over to the states. We've accomplished nothing but we've learned a lesson: We need to to purify our party and purge it of the likes of Boehner. The Tea Party must take the lead and we must not let the RINOs win!

The question now is what are the Republicans going to do about righting the ship. It seems to me the big fight starts now.
Inside the DC “bubble,” it’s a big win for Boehner. In the real world it’s a joke. One penny saved on the $1000 bill of spending — if you even consider a minute “reduction in an increase” meaningful.

The deal sucks.
Even when Morris is right he still makes my skin crawl. Toe sucker.
LOl! I feel the exact same way.
It’s a sad day when Morris is more conservative then the GOP leadership

This deal isn’t important as important as Paul Ryan budget and the debt ceiling is. Actually, I’m surprised they held their ground for $38B.
If the Republicans were smart they would tie the Ryan budget to increasing the debt ceiling. If they pass the debt ceiling without the budget you might as well forget any hopes of getting the Ryan budget through.
Yep really sad. But true. And Trump is the only one fighting Obama. The Republicans we fought for spend the day praising Obama and appeasing the MSM. Oh well I am going back to being just another Libertarian Kook. The effort to elect them does not appear to be worth it.
1) Roll back congress’ budget to FY2000 levels.
2) End all retirement benefits for elected or appointed officials, including congress itself.
3) Especially end all retirement benefits for SPOUSES of congress. Why on earth they get benefits I've no clue at all.
Until CONGRESS takes serious the idea that they're spending someone else’s money and gets their own financial house in order, everything else is just play money to them. Shifting mountains of money for political effect, rather than treating it as money taken from us, sometimes even at gunpoint.
You don't retire from Congress, you get told someone else is going to take over the duties and you can go back to your life now.
The Republicans not raising it has less than a Snowballs chance in Hell. They will squawk and Squabble for show and make up some new scam to sell the fools. Then raise the Debt Limit. Obama will be made out as a Centrist and all will be well inside the Beltway. They will go on vacation and return for the Huge Washington Extraveganza of the Year! The Fall Splitting of the Loot Celebration and Feast! It happens every Halloween.
“Extraordinary deal”?? We just saved 6 days of borrowing at current deficit rates. I call it extraordinarily BAD.
It was a feeble effort, much more show than go. In the face of a multi trillion dollar problem he made his stand over what amounts to nothing more than a few days interest on the national debt. Not good
No one talks that much about a great deal, if it was so good, the American people would already know that, they would not need any probing from the lame old media!
Same basic question I asked my Tea Party friends. With this who thinks the repubs will have the guts to do the right thing on the debt ceiling and 2012 budget. I do not. I do see how they could do it but they are gutless so I fear without OD intervention all is lost.
OD = GOD’s
