NATICK
Two men pleaded not guilty today in Framingham District Court after Natick Police said they started a fight during a child's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese on Saturday.
Donald Jean Estime, 32, of Brockton, and Ezekiel L. Tavares, 36, of East Boston, were both arrested Saturday at 5:19 p.m. and charged with assault and battery and disturbing the peace.
According to a police report, the pair were at Estime's son's birthday party and appeared to have been drinking. Estime got into an argument with his son's mother's cousin because Estime was harassing that man's daughter who was playing air hockey.
During the argument, Estime shoved both the man and a Chuck E. Cheese employee, while Tavares punched the man, police said.
In court today, Judge Douglas Stoddart expressed surprise about the assault.
"Isn't Chuck E. Cheese a fight-free zone?'' he said.
Stoddart released both men without bail and ordered them back in court on May 17 for a pretrial conference.

“appeared to have been drinking”
Understatement of the day!
Things can get out of control at Charles E. Cheese, what with the little kids running around biting ankles, bumping into each other, all the noise, etc. Best not to go there with a migraine.
This sort of thing is only supposed to happen at the Waffle House at 3AM.
I’m glad our went out of business years ago...................
No shots fired! Not very gangsta,fo’shizzle!
Warning!
Do NOT drop LSD and go to Chuckie Cheeze.
It may seem like a good idea at the time
but, YOU’LL BE SORRY!
Had a Chuck E Cheese a few towns over from us. They refused to renew the liquor license because of violence.
It was in the paper every other week in the Police Blotter.
Chuck E. Cheese, is a recipe for trouble. A baby momma, some of her kids, several different fathers, not knowing who’s kid is who, toss in some cheap tap beer, get the kids screaming and yelling, kids from multiple families start fighting with each other, parents are boozed up and there is testosterone flowing, cook it all down and you have fist fights and stabbings.
His son’s mother’s cousin? Wouldn’t that be his wife’s cousin? Oh, no....not these days.
I used to work in a building next door to a Chuck E Cheese.
It was a real zoo in there in the daytime. Gangs of little kids just running wild, while their moms were sitting around tables, passing out over empty bottles of wine.
“Get out of the way kids!....I gotta clock somebody!”
Say what?
Who's on first?
Can we diagram this family?

Please do not change titles, no matter how appropriate.
“no fighting in the war room!”
OK.
So the babydaddy (Estime) was at Chuck E. Cheese celebrating his little boy's birthday. The boy's mother was there and so was her cousin (Tavares). Tavares brought his daughter along to the birthday party.
Estime apparently decided that his little boy's Chuck E. Cheese birthday party was the appropriate time and place to drunkenly hit on his own little boy's presumably underage cousin.
It sounds like Estime did not get nearly the beating he deserved. I feel very sorry for the birthday boy.
Not really.
Calling All Cars: Trouble at Chuck E. Cheese's, Again
Links to a WSJ article on the unusual amount of violence that takes place across the country at this supposed kid-friendly restaurant.
Always 10 birthday parties going on simultaneously, impossibly crowded, enforced party turnover, maximum stress level.
See post 16.
I have always had a problem eating at an establishment where the mascot is a big giant rat.
